If you don't wheel your truck hard you wont benefit from crossover steering. When your truck is twisted up in an obstacle on the trail, the stock steering geometry cannot steer in one direction. As the drag link side of the axle compresses (or droops) the drag link becomes angled instead of level and you just cant steer the truck in one direction (I think right hand turning becomes diminished).

So it has no effect on loc-to-loc turns? Or street handling?

I have a offroad truck I'm trying to figure out the crossover hydrolic steering on without lifting it myself. I have a dana 60 in front on stock 3 leaf springs. I don't want to lift it because it would roll over on the hills to easy and no reason to lift a truck that 38" tires fit on already. I want to change it because of the flex it wont steer one way or the other at times while offroading.

Not on level ground or normal city driving. I'd say no lift, not wheeling hard save your money.

Most agree that you need atleast 2" of lift to be able to install crossover by even then you may have interference with the engine crossmember.

Contact Off Road Design about it, they are very open with tech.

You might just be better off getting a ported gear box and go hydraulic assist.
