Hey guys, anyone know if they would be an issue in going from a factory dual headlight grille on a 82 Silverado to a dual headlight factory grille from an 87 Silverado. I would keep the 82 turn signals in the bumpers.

None as far as fit and finish go. If you keep the bumper lights and ditch the semi-hidden ones, you'll notice little notches in the bottom corners of the grille where the lights fit into.

Should be straightforward. I have an 84...with a 86 suburban front doghouse. The only issue I had was not having a floor mounted high beam switch. I opted instead to install a second headlight switch in the dash just below the low beam switch. I didnt want to punch a hole in my floorboards.

It's not until you'd upgrade to an 89-91 grill it gets a bit more complicated. You should have an easy job from an 81-82 grill all the way up to an 88 grill.

Speaking of, I just sold my 81 bumper yesterday. I was keeping it to put clear driving/fog lights in the holes where the turn/tail lights went in the bumper.

That's the way to go right there. Keep the ones behind the grille and do fog lights.

Not sure if they ever changed, but the foot switch on my 74 is only mounted with 2 screws inside the cab. Not on the exterior.
