I have the rear coil over 4 link taken care of for my 77 step side, now I'm looking at front coil over kits and I'm having a hard time deciding among all the options. If you have experience with or recommendations for the best IFS system I'd appreciate the feedback. Best bang for the bucks suggestions please.

Best vs Best bang for the buck are two very different things.

I'm about to spend what to me is a significant amount of money for a coil over front suspension for my C10. Helpful information about quality, performance, and value from those who have experience installing and using one of these kits is valued and appreciated.

Quality, performance, value? You only get two. That's why the factory system is so-so at best. It a law of nature, physics, or something. Detroit Speed or Aldan Engineering have kits that will perform well enough to knock the fillings out of your teeth. I'd start there.

Seems like baggin on the new guy a bit here for wanting a hot rod suspension….
@Aitch not too many folks here into turning their square into a road racer. But I bet @TotalyHucked will have some good advice if he stops by. He’s pretty well read on most things performance related for squares.

That said, unless you’re really wanting to push the limits of physics with an old pickup, I’ve always thought that 2wd squares with a good set of springs and shocks (and all the hardware fresh and tight) handles pretty darn well.

I have no experience with coil over setups so I can't really help on that. All the stuff I've done has been stock(ish) drops an bagged.

Hey Aitch, I asked a similar queation a while back.
I have just fitted the complete QA1 front crossmember kit complete with their control arms and double adjustable coil overs and includes a rack and pinion conversion as well. And their sway bar kit it’s not cheap but the quality is there. They say to do it with the front clip off and engine out . I did it with everything still on and in the car except for the inner fenders. The kit is good quality instructions are average and their support is mediocre . If you are really handy it shouldn’t be too hard for you. I struggled a bit cause I’m old and dumb. Have only just started dialing in the shocks but so far the steering is good and everything works well. You can feel the difference off the nose of the truck with all that heavy factory suspension and cross member removed . I think it saves about 150 pounds which is significant .
I did have to take off my Doug’s headers and fit Hookers and the steering knuckles they say to use Borgeson and I found out the hard way that they are well worth the extra cost.
so far I’m really happy with how it turned out couple of photos attached.
Good Luck

I had Aldan which was very good. Got in a crash bent my frame now going with QA1 front and rear added the front cross member with rack and pinion steering. 4link rear.

Suspension is one of the critical systems of your vehicle, both from performance and more importantly - safety. The factory engineers were well paid, smart folks that designed a reliable system. Their "problem" if you can call it that, is that they had to compromise for all the different uses the truck would be put to during its life, from freeway driving, off road and hauling to picking up the groceries or Gran ma for thanksgiving. If you are going to change stuff to benefit performance, you will have to sacrifice something somewhere else. Iv'e never seen a "design triangle" similar to the value triangle ( above in the thread ), but its probably something like "performance / comfort / safety" or something like that. DO NOT compromise on safety ( be prepared to reduce your truck's capacity to haul and / or brake a load etc. from factory specs. ) - do your research, and find a company that specialises in performance and quality fabrication - ie. backed up by real world testing ( autocross, racing etc. ). I would suggest looking at the kits by Hotchkiss. Certainly not the "cheapest", but they are well tested in the competition space. I have not seen many other companies extensively test their products in competition - however happy to be educated / corrected on this...
