That was an interesting dash in that burban tho. It gave me an idea anyway....... What if you took one that was all stripped clean like that. Painted it and then applied some aluminum diamond plate panels, stainless panels (bead blasted satin) or some carbon fiber panels to give it a finished look??? Is that a stupid idea? I kindof wish I would have saved my old dash pad an tried somthing like that with some wood paneling. Not for the woor grain appearance but to prove the concept on the cheap.

it could be made to work, but I believe the point of the dash under the dash pad being lower and curved is to allow for the passenger to hit the softer dash pad in case of a collision. 4-5" of travel between the dash pad and the actual dash provides the cushion.

Indentation in the dash pad/dash can be seen in the following crash tests. The steering wheel is a problem for a driver, i though the column supposed to collapse, but not sure on the 78 model.

Couple cool C10's! Didn't realized they were that spendy, though

They're supposed to be C20's but I don't see the deep hub caps to hide the full floater hub on either one. Yeah these trucks can bring a pretty penny if they're in decent shape. Most are rusted out or beat to crap and are barely worth the effort to get them back in decent shape. But they are very solid units if they're still intact.
