I would guess it depends on what you plan to tie down. I just use the pockets in the bedsides or the edges of the bed, but the trucks I use to haul things are all beaters:oops:

I have a headache rack with bed rails on my wood hauler that gives me plenty of places to attach a tiedown.

I am constantly moving odd shaped, heavy or light pieces of restaurant equipment, racks, furniture, stuff like that. Are those stake hole insert tie downs no good? I read they can bend.

For haulin my dirt bikes, I removed the bottom bolt on each side of the front of the bed. Replaced them with eye bolts, with a washer and nut on the inside of bed, and a fender washer, flat washer, lock washer and nut between the bed and cab.

They mount inside the stake holes. My buddy has a short bed with them in it - first time I ever saw them. They're made really well (pricey too - but IMO worth it) and retract outta sight when not needed. My friend usually has a clamp on tonneu cover (so do I) and these stay in and hidden until he needs them. Mine is in panels so many times I fold it up 1-2 panels when I have something bigger to haul and these work perfectly without taking them in-out all the time. Pretty slick IMO.

I use eye bolts on all four corners and one both front and back of the inner fenderwells. Handles all tie down issues I have found.

I use Bullring tie-down anchors.

You must be registered for see images attach

Happen to know the PN for these? Ones I used to use is NLA (for square bodies). Want to get a couple sets for mine. Hoping they just changed the PN is all - or maybe its an application they dont list.
