Quick question, what size wire would you use to wire in a autometer tachometer. 18 guage wire or 14 guage or something else.

Everybody doesn't always respond right away! It is Super Bowl Sunday after all. In answer to your question though you should be using 18 gauge wire at a minimum. That is what the instructions call for.

Maybe the people that viewed it didn't know the answer? Calm down, it takes time for people with the proper knowledge to chime in...you only waited 1.5 hours.

This happens when you ONLY post to ask a question, get help, then don't even have the courtesy to respond back and let anyone know if your problem got solved or not. Just drop in when you need info and never come back until you need something else.

Also might note you asked your question during the biggest sporting event of any given year, so how much you want to make a bet, 80% or more of us were watching the game???

You ever heard of a forum called 73-87.com??? It's an awesome place. They have an admin/owner there referred to as CaptKockSauce. Hit him up, he's awesome and quick to respond. I think you'd make a great fit on that forum.

By the way, www.autometer.com probably has the instruction manual and the info on your tach and also probably has the info your looking for.

Maybe it's just me, but I would use the same gauge of wire that is sticking out the back of the tach. I know that response wasn't fast enough for some folks, but it is what it is.

And that took me longer than 2 seconds :emotions34:

:happy175: Another one of these guys huh?

How about you take that sweet ass of yours over to a better forum as Hotrod mentioned, maybe you will get along with the guys at 67-72chevytrucks.com.

My autometer tach has like 10 feet of wire hanging out of it, I cant confirm but it seems like 18 gauge wire. Its not like its going to draw a ton of current, one wire is just a signal, one gets wired to the dash light circuit and one is a ground.

He won't be back. Of all of his posts, he asked a question, got an answer or someone asked for more info and he never came back to say piss up a rope, didn't work, did work, thanks or anything. One of those Me Me Me ME type and to hell with everyone else. Kinda like why he was pissed cuz noone responded in an hour and a half.

The forum is only as valuable as it's members. And some members just don't add much value, so I don't think we lost much. Maybe he'll follow up with CaptKockSauce and spend his money there. :emotions33:
