Time for the body and interior to be done

We have done all brakes, lines, drive train, 305 with 700R4, bushings, cab mounts, all new front end. It would be a shorter list of what hasn't been replaced. I do want to change the steering box to a better one, with a new steering wheel, not the crap stock one.

I am fabbing up new steel bumpers and a steel sun visor. Time to take all apart and sandblast it down to bare metal, what I am thinking of doing should be sweet and will post pics.

I need new window rubbers, the original ones are crumbling away, dried out like the desert. Truck is very solid! Time to put style into it............

Located 45 mins east of Toronto!!

Anyone know of good/cheap parts suppliers for square body trucks parts?

Yeah, that steering box seems to be something that they all need after a while. If you can find a 1996 or older Jeep Cherokee (not Grand Cherokee, by the way) being parted out or in a junkyard, grab the intermediate steering shaft. It's a helluva lot better than the rag joint steering shaft because it uses universal joints on both ends. I've done it on my Caprice and my Jimmy. Unfortunately, like yours, my Saginaw box is worn out so I haven't felt the benefits in my Jimmy, but the Caprice steered like a whole different car. If you don't like the factory steering wheel, have you considered a late square/earlier GMT400 steering wheel? I know the ones out of square bodies are a direct fit, and I'm pretty sure the GMT400 one is, too. I'll attach a picture. Also, your grille looks like it's in really good shape from your picture. If you want to touch up those letters, I used Rustoleum "Lobster Red," and I was very happy with how it looked after. Finally, feel free to document your progress in a build thread. I know I'd like to see how it comes along, and others will, too.
