I recently found a crack on an exhaust valve seat on one of the heads on my 1980 C20 pickup. Here's the stock (current) setup:
- 350ci (Gen I, dished pistons)
- stock cast iron intake
- Edelbrock Q-jet
- stock heads with 1.94 intake valves
- long tube headers/dual with crossover
- stock HEI distributor
-APPLICATION: Normal truck stuff... hauling, daily driving, NO racing.
I picked up a redone pair of cast iron heads from a '72 Corvette for very cheap, and noticed that they have the larger, I'm assuming 2.02 intake valves. I had been planning to put these on my truck engine, but now I'm wondering if the larger intake valves will kill torque and ruin what little fuel economy the thing has.
Any ideas?
