305 tpi to tbi question

Recently picked up an 87 K10 with a bad tbi 350 in it. There’s a tpi 305 out of a 92 Camaro for sale for cheap in my area.

My question is, will the tbi intake bolt directly into the tpi heads?

If both have Centerline valve covers. It will interchange. I really like the TPI engines myself.

The tpi 305 might also be roller cam engine

Do you think the ecm would have any issues running the roller cam and head setup?

The ECMs are not interchangeable, Completely different animals. A TPI ecm from a 305 will need some programming to run a 350 TPI as well.

There are several upgrade pcms an harnesses for TPI engines. I'd run it off one of those. The TPI was the best truck intake they never put on a truck!

Agreed but he's wanting to put a TBI intake in place of the TPI.

It will probably run too rich due to different parameters, but certainly putting a 305 injectors and ECM on it would be fairly easy, might be a sensor or two different but easily found.

Put your tbi manifold on your tpi motor,with 305 injectors ,it will run just fine,the tbi is manifold pressure controlled those heads and cam are not enough to confuse it.
