Yes they make flexible extensions. Ace hardware would probably carry some.

I think I’m gonna pick some up and see what happens. I also discovered some “421 polishing compound” that is supposed to be used with the pads so I’m gonna grab some of that too and give it a whirl here sometime soon. I think if I can get the emblem to shine up I can deal with the painted part easy enough. Just not sure what color the “+” is supposed to be since the numbers are red :hmm: :)

I found this pic. If you squint this has the red numbers, too, and what looks to be the mustard color for the “+”. So basically the inverse of what we’re used to seeing with the mustard numbers and crimson “+”

If you're putting a 70s front on it I would paint it to match what was on the 70s trucks....

The rust probably started where the limo lights were screwed on.
I'll say it again- yeah, that was a good one.... Lol

From afar the rust spots look like muzzel loader ball dents lol
Lol. And from close, it looks like a 12 gauge got it from a foot away. I've got to get on it soon. It's starting to rust on the inside now too....

Are you gonna put the chrome side trim on too? I think if I did a front clip swap then id want all the trim too. I guess some of it depends on the paint though. If its all one soild color maybe it wouldnt matter.

It'll all be one color but really it all depends on if I can find the dually trim. So I'm guessing initially it'll be without trim but if I find a set of trim in good shape that I can afford then I'd definitely be interested. The trim is not easy to find, though. The clip swap is a little ways down the road, though.

Here's a link to a generic set of polishing tips on Amazon. FYI I used to use Flitz or Brasso to polish my work badge and snaps. Flitz has less abrasives than Brasso.

Cool. I've got some Flitz at home plus I have some polishing wheels for my dremel coming. Once they arrive I'll go to town and see what happens :)

Some dremel buffer wheels and some polish showed up today. Gonna see which one is best between this polish and the Flitz

This is probably an ignorant question but do they make dremel extensions that’d allow me to polish it?

Yes they do it comes in a kit with different compounds and buffing pads.
