While out doing some trading on my old brush guard, I came across a Cadillac Deville with great looking bucket seats. I believe they are electric, didn't pay much attention as I was happy they were black leather with no rips or holes. The other good part is he only wants $100 for the set....including what ever brackets, wiring, and console I need.

What do ya'll think? Possible w/o cutting the floor out on a K10? The picture below is one I found on the net for reference.

Great looking seat! Worth the $100 to at least take home and see what the possibilities are. If it turns out hounding use them you can sell them again and make a very nice profit on them!!

It depends mostly on the mounts to the floor and how high the seats are.

Yeah, they are bucket seats and the center "seat" is just a padded shorty console with a folding armrest, much like the GMT800+ trucks. I've been thinking about getting one of these for my Olds wagon because the cupholders are pretty good.

I looked a few Cadillac and buicks today in the salvage yard and I think it could be done with some custom mounts. It was cold blowin and snowin so I didn't look real hard.

Brownie points if you can get the heated/cooled seats working too.

Thanks guys, finally had a $100 to spare so I went and got em. They don't have any tears or rips. Hopefully won't take long to test them out n see how they fit. I got the console although it's missing the lid. I'll either buy one or build something to mesh with interior.

With them out of the vehicle (2003 DeVille), I'm a bit worried. The leather on the passenger seat is very hard/brittle. Can this be softened up with saddle soap, armour all, etc?

There are products that will soften the leather, I know mink oil will, there are lot of leather stuff that can soften them up.

crap I had a bunch typed up, but hit the x on this tab and lost everyting.

The passenger seat is easy to wire up....orange to hot, black to ground. The drivers seat is a different story. It expects to be hooked up to the computer. Without the computer, I believe it will not monitor the heated seats current flow....thus maybe burning up the seat. A heated bum is at the bottom of the list, so I could care less. Also being hooked up to the vehicle allows for 2 memory positions.

So to install the drivers seat into another vehicle you need:

-12V=large orange, 2 small oranges, and the pink (not sure if it will run the battery down or not. Easy fix is to put all of them on an ignition controlled relay.

-GND = Large black and 2 browns

The link below led me to figure this out. Post #11, I didn't have the grey wire he mentions.

oh yeh, don't hook up 12V and ground to the orange/black stripe and black/white stripe. Sounded like a very good cap gun. Pretty sure that has to do with the air bags LOL.

The sound you heard was probably the seatbelt buckle tightening up like it was in a wreck. I think those models had that feature.

They could have. The actuator goes off with a bang... I'm betting that's what it was. If it was the side airbag, shouldn't it have popped out of the seat?
