I have a 12 bolt rear end I was told it was a 4.10 but he lied and it is 3.08
I have already installed 4.10 front end
I was looking into buying a set of gears . is some different ? 4.10 sets some are thicker that others.
I am thinking i need the thicker 4.10 because i have a 3.08 carrier.

Correct, you will need the thick set because of the 3.08 carrier. Some gear manufacturers offer a spacer ring but I advise to steer away from those.

anyone know if the both pinion bearings come off with out a press. i am pretty sure the one behind the yoke will but the one against the gear? not the carrier bearings.

You'll need a press and bearing cup (separator) to remove the bearing closest to the pinion teeth. The other one pops off when you drive the pinion out of the yoke.
