Pretty sure i am having a WC issue and its something i always wanted to do and i should have let it set until i did it but i like the truck and got restless.

I used the Offroad Design bracket kit with the rotors, calipers & pads from a GM corporate 10 bolt, 3/4 ton for the 8x6.5 bolt pattern. Also used factory front rubber lines, and welded a large washer to the top spring plate to mount the frame end of the line to. This allows the calipers to move, you cant use hard line directly to the caliper. Only thing is you lose your park brake. You may want to contact R1 Concepts under the "Vendor" section here at the forum for calipers that have provisions for your park brake, hopefully they are better than the old Cadillac El Dorado ratcheting calipers w/park brake levers. Oh also you may want to pick up an adjustible proportion valve. The rear brakes may grab a lot harder after the swap than your drums so you may want to cut a little pressure from them. I picked one up from Jegs for around $20-$30. Also I read with the longer throw of the caliper pistons compared to the wheel cylinders you may have issues of the rear reservoir going drastically low once the pads wear but I haven't experienced that yet. I think the fix was use a 1-ton master cylinder but you already have that. :waytogo:

Thank you a place to start..no ratcheting calipers for me.They were junk when GM did them and im sure they still are.One of the most hated brake set ups ever.It rarely needed just pads.People would drive them until they were metal to metal and half the damn time the calipers were leaking..people do not want to hear.OKay pads aren't going to help.

True. We got a Nissan truck at work that has it. Just figured if you went with rear discs it could be an option. I guess it would suck in snow too, lol.

Ruff stuff specialties sale a bracket for cheap. All you have to have is Chevy 3/4 front caliper rotor and pads. It is easy and cheap we run this set up on the rockcrawlers.
