    Dashpad vs Cab years

I ended up going with an '84 model cab that I found at a reasonable price so the hinges weren't an issue.

    Dashpad vs Cab years

Thanks. So far that's the general consensus. How about the pass thru for the steering column? Is that funky somewhat of a triangle hole the same on all years?

    Dashpad vs Cab years

So the dash pads from 73-80 are different than the pads from 81-87. My question is, is the inside of the cab different. My original cab is an '85 and I found a '73 cab in much better shape. Will my 81-87 dashpad fit in this cab? It's a new pad and I'm building for show so I want it to look...

    Lets see your lifted trucks

It really isn't a big deal. Once I get the cab and bed painted and on the chassis, my tags are current so they'll go on. It will appear "operative as everything but the interior will be installed. Even then the interior won't take long. Won't even be noticed. lol

Same here. Mine has to resemble a working truck because my HOA is super strict.

    Steering Column Questions

Yes Frankentruck is a term I've used to describe it. lol. I'm not concerned about Cali. As long as I'm active duty, I won't have to worry about licensing/titling there and when I retire....it won't be in Cali. My Franketruck parts list is as follows: 14-B wheel seal: 2003 Chevy 3500HD Rear...

I bought the truck in VA and registered it in Alaska (military benefits lol). Also, after i found the frame cracked in several locations, I swapped it out with a cleaner frame I got from a '77 K-10. I took that and had it powdercoated and like I said, the truck is currently registered.

The harness online was like $50 for that connector. One of the members here is going to send me his. The thing about this truck, is you're likely right that there was a cab swap. I bought the truck knowing nothing about squarebodies and as an '85, it had a 100mph speedo in it. The truck was...

    Steering Column Questions

Seems to me like maybe the original harness in my truck wasn't from an '85. Who knows. Lots of good information and I greatly appreciate it guys. Exactly what I was looking for. One of the guys offered us his connector. I told him if he thinks he'll need it again not to cut it and that I'll...

    Steering Column Questions

    1. The steering column I'm using is from an '87 with MFS. 2. The harness is a brand new Painless harness that doesn't have the connector. 3. My original harness in the truck has the wiper switch on the dash therefore I don't have the connector needed to plug into the module, thus my inquiry in...

    Write up: Gas Tank Relocation

I moved the filler neck on my tank and have it point out the right rear of the truck. I'm running the filler neck through one of the bed channels and up through the hole in the corner and behind the tail light. I'm nowhere near complete with it but that's how I'm doing it. I bought the Klearz...

    Steering Column Questions

That'd be great. As for keeping the old setup; I do NOT want the wiper controls on the dash. I'm ok with nixing the idea of having the delays but I want the wiper controls on the column but either way, I need to find the right harness for it. PM sent Installing it is simple. Wiring the stuff...

    Steering Column Questions

I'd appreciate that. I assume that side of the module goes to the wiper motor? I spoke to Painless today and they indicated unless I find it from a truck, I won't be getting one and then went on to tell me they never work anyway. Is it worth it or just get the wiper switch with no delay?
