    ok, my dad had tanks and a torch. we heated and it still wouldn't come out. we just cut the pin off to where we could hammer it on thru the gear. it is OUT!! i ordered another pin to replace with. got the axle out now to replace bearing and seal....guess what? the dang axle is worn so bad...

    only option now is to find something to cut that pin then continue to knock it out then pull both axles and remove carrier and replace all new i guess.

    if i could cut an inch off it, i could hammer on out and then pull clips and axles then the center section and replace it all i guess. that small gear it is stuck in must be jacked up.

    at this point, how do i get the entire center stuff out to where i can take it to my vice and work on getting it out?

    there is no way to move it. i had to slam a huge hammer to move it a centimeter. i have put vice grips on it tight and tried to hammer them to make it move. wont budge.

    so once i get some advice on how to get that MF out of there, then i need to buy a new pinion shaft. so can anyone tell me what rear end this is so i order the right shaft?

    no the pin is correct. it is all the way out as you can see from the top of the pinion pin i can stick a nail all the way thru the hole. nothing in there. its the other side any way

    ok guys, major problem need some help please. i removed the small bolt holding the pin between the axles and the steel shaft that keeps both axles from coming inward is stuck. videos i watched the just slid right out. i had to hammer it hard to get it to move. it was a little space between both...

    i have a 84 chevy stepside i am working on. The rear axle bearing is shot. any help telling me how to remove it? do i have to do in the rear chunk to pull the C clip on these trucks to release the axle to swap bearing out? thanks
