    Converting Diesel Wiring to Gas

Thank you both...it seems that the previous owner had already removed a fair amount of the diesel wiring and I've spent the last week pulling the rest out. Wow...I can't believe how much cleaner it is under the dash with all that extra copper pulled out. I'll probably put what I pulled out up...

    Converting Diesel Wiring to Gas

Hello Everyone, The cab on my truck is from an 83’ diesel that was originally ordered for the Canadian Army. The cab now sits on a lowered shortbox chassis with a 383 and a super t-10. The original wiring harness has a few extra runs of wiring that I do not recognize which I believe are to...

    Custom Tail Lights or Not

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I’m leaning towards going with the stock lights then, I’ve done fiberglass before, it’s not terribly hard but it’s nothing to enjoy. I have to finish painting the doors anyways so I have some time to think about it. I am excited to get this thing on the road...

    Custom Tail Lights or Not

Hello Everyone, I’m painting my truck in stages. I’ve got the cab and front clip in primer, I’d like to move onto the box and rear fenders but before I do so I need to figure out what to do with the holes in my fenders. I bought these fiberglass stepside fenders off a kid as they are in great...

    Backing Plates

Thank you Squaredeal, from the pics I think the backing plates are very similar across the years. Though the pic of the 91’ is a 3500 I think it says that parking cables were routed in a similar fashion regardless of size or rear end.

    Backing Plates

this is the backing plate with the old style cables that came with it, I’m hoping that the parking brake kit for the 84’-87’ squarebody is a bolt on deal.

    Backing Plates

Hello Everyone, I am ordering a parking brake kit from LMC truck for my 86’ shortbox frame, for 84’-87’ chevy ran the parking brake cables along the driver side frame rail rather than up both sides like in 73’-83’ I have a 12 bolt rear end with the heavy duty 2 3/4 shoes…I think the rear end...

    Bad balance? Or improper flywheel?

Hello All, In my quest to build this project truck of mine I’ve swapped out my th350 for a super t10 and so I changed out the 168 tooth flexplate for a 168 tooth flywheel. My motor is a 383 stroker with a long-rod externally balanced kit from eagle speciality products. The flywheel I got is...

    Master Cylinder Pushrod Help

Hello All, I am bolting up a brake booster and master cylinder from a 1977 C10 onto my 1983 C10. I noticed that the hole on the end of the brake booster pushrod is a bit smaller than the stud it attaches to on the brake pedal arm. Does anybody know what size I have to drill the hole out to...

Thank you for the speedy reply, I think you might have just solved this dilemma for me. How did the pie-cut method turn out for you?

    Help with cab corner fitment

Calling out to everyone who has tangled with sub-par replacement panels. I am replacing the passenger side cab corner and it is giving me a headache. You can see in the 2 photos that I have uploaded that the cab corner appears to be wider than original by about 3/16. If I line up the cab...

    73-80 vs 81-87 Parking Brake

Hey everybody, I am wondering about the differences between the parking brake fittings at the drum on a 73-80 12 bolt and if they are compatible with a parking brake setup on a 81-87 cab/chassis. I swapped a 12 bolt from a 77' c10 into my 86' c10 and i want to know if my factory parking brake...

    Clutch Zbar Stud

Hey everyone, Can someone tell me if the ball stud for the zbar/bellcrank goes into the engine or the bellhousing? I have seen pictures where people do both, any info is greatly appreciated.

    4 speed swap

Back to this forum after a few years. Can you tell me if you put the ball stud for the zbar on the engine block or the bellhousing? Also can you tell me what headers you're running? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

    Fuel tank fitment

Thank you that’s exactly what I needed to see. It’s a bare frame and there’s nothing holding it up. I think the tank itself is almost 1” taller than factory, I even had to modify the new tank straps to fit the tank too. I’ve already installed everything in the tank and I can’t return it so I...

    Fuel tank fitment

Hello all I need to know what clearance I have in regards to the top of the fuel tank and the bottom of the box. I just installed a brand new 16 gallon Spectra Premium tank and it went in nicely but it seems to sit about 1/2” above the frame rails and I’m worried the tank will rub the box braces.

    St10 vs m21 shifter

Can a Hurst installation kit for a muncie m-21 be modified slightly to work with my super t10? I have the possibility to get a good deal on an installation kit but it’s for a Muncie. It is for a project so I don’t mind where the shifter lands.

    Bellhousing, trash or keep?

If it comes out level do you think it is okay to use? I suppose as long as it is level and all but 1 bolt on the very bottom can torque down completely then it should be okay for use right? Do you worry about runout with bellhousings on street rods or is that for a more advanced level of...

    Bellhousing, trash or keep?

Hey all, wanted to ask you folks about a used lakewood scattershield I came across for my mission to bolt up a super t10 under my 81' C10. I picked up the scattershield for $250 and noticed that it looked like it may have contained one explosion already. The very bottom holes are bent away from...

    U bolt dimensions

as the title says I just wanted to verify the U bolt dimensions for a 12 bolt. 3" width x 7" length x 9/16 thread right? I have a belltech flip kit installed and need to know before I drop $80 on u bolts a local shop will fab up. Does the flip kit use a stock U-bolt?

Someone settle the motor mount debacle

I got tired of hassling with it and was too pricey, I ended up pulling a set of frame stands and clamshells/cups from a c10 at pick n pull. $30 for the mounts and $60 for a set of poly inserts. Not bad, thanks for chipping in.

Someone settle the motor mount debacle

I know there is a difference between truck and car clamshell mounts. Trucks typically have longer mounts to lift the engine out of the cradle a little more than a set of car mounts do. I have been looking page over page to find a definitive answer but have not. What mounts can I use to sit a sbc...

    Fuel tank

Thank you for clearing that up i wasn't sure which application suited each sender. There are no emissions requirements where I live and I'm building a hotrod, do you know what I should do for a sender setup? Can I go with 1 outlet sender and use a vented gas cap to vent the tank pressure? Do I...
