    How does the coolant flow?

ok so I routed the bypass hose to the in and out of the espar. It works fine. Seems the espar allows free flow when stopped, so no interference with normal bypass flow.

    coolant bypass hose

I'm assuming the smaller hose in the top front of the engine that looks like it goes into the water pump is the bypass hose. Wouldn't it be easiest to put an espar coolant heater inline with this? The top to the espar, and the espar to the bottom / water pump? Wouldn't this put heated coolant...

    After market ac sucks

there's a thread on this somewhere about how it's common that the ducts behind the dashboard have gaps between them that sometimes require duct tape. That is what I did to get decent defrost on my 85 silverado.

    fuel hose size

so the Napa counter clerk said based on the size of the mechanical lift pump the hose size should be 5/8". I bought 3' and replaced the line between the pump and metal line. It looks like someone replaced only a section from where it was previously damaged and visible or easy to access, to the...

    Low vent flow

If I'm not mistaken (at least on my 85), there are varying gap spaces between vent conduits in the center dash vents that let the air leak out behind the dashboard guts. putting duct tape to seal/close the gap(s) helps air flow to the vents if this is your case. I think this is showing the...

    fuel hose size

So I discovered that the hose between the metal line to the mechanical lift pump is cracked and leaking. It leaks when I try to start. Also stalls randomly and is hard to start. I noticed two rubber hoses, one from the metal line and the other from the pump that meet with a two inch long...

Just curious, is that an opening to the water jacket?

    How does the coolant flow?

well I think I've finally solved the problem. according to wikipedia anyway, "all" automobiles use centrifugal pumps for the water pump. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiator_%28engine_cooling%29#Coolant_pump and looking at one of these, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrifugal_pump...

    How does the coolant flow?

sorry it's been so long I haven't installed yet but have found that according to the explanation in the online manual I found for the 6.2 diesel engine the flow of coolant goes from the engine to the heater core under the dashboard, then to the radiator, so unless you're willing to turn off...

    turns but won't start.

1985 K10 Silverado 6.2L Diesel. so I drove yesterday morning, afternoon wouldn't start. Cranking fine, glow plugs cycled (wipers came on!), turned on manual glow switch, nothing. Pink wire to IP solenoid makes noise when dis/re-connected. Fuel squirts out of the square fuel filter bleed...

Inner Cab Heater/AC Housing Reference Pics

So I pulled the cowl and screen again and covered all the openings with special heavy duty outdoor weather 3M duct tape. It helps to heat up sooner and avoid outside odors, but I still get them. Must be the door seals worn, lost flexibility from age, or frozen from the cold weather. I noticed...

    wiper arm removal

I guess I was fortunate to have a side step to stand on and reach the right one from the left side. I had to remove them again and it gets easier each time. This message was sent from my cheap old brand new ANDROID smartphone on, "Tapatalk"!
