    Pretty much, the original problem was that the front shaft was pressed fully in, any movement caused it to bind and then push on the tcase hard.

    Okay, I forgot to put on the 1/4 spacer that I had on the wheels. They were under a pile of parts in the bed of the truck and I was 8 beers deep. The front shaft was the original problem, but the 2nd problem was all my stupid fault.

    Well, I took both shafts out and the front shaft was way too long so i removed it for now, but the rear seemed close enough to be able to drive spins freely in the case even pushed fully in, angles could be better but nothing close to binding that I can tell.     Thanks for the replies. Hoping to find some time today to get under the truck. I have the NP440/883 trans with a NP208 on mine, makes it real hard to find specs on shaft lengths.
