its an 05 with 46k on it.

That's just barely broke in for an LS motor. Hell of a deal. And yes, its drive by wire. :High 5: You'll be alot happier with this set up than a 383 or 454.

with a 5.3 in a crewcab, you're going to be very disappointed. that is ALOT of truck to move. if you're set on Gen III engine, go 6.0, or don't waste your time. it takes low end grunt to get a heavy truck moving, and that's one flaw in the Gen III design. by design, it simply doesn't make the low end torque a truck needs.

not in truck yet. working 7 days a week/12hr days. won't be anymore disappointed than the 350 that was in there. i plan on heads, cam, intake, and supercharger so getting it moving shouldn't really be a problem.

The 5.3L moves my dad's 08' Crewcab along quite well, actually, and I'm sure it weighs more than a square CC. Squares are light compared to the newer trucks.

This might be true on the low end torque, but that can be compesated with by going with a lower rear gear. I be happy as a pig in poop :poop: with a 5.3 in a Crew Cab and even if it was a dually. He's going to be running an OD trans so 4.10 or even 4.56 would be a great gear choice and will get it moving.

Oh yeah, there will be a significant difference in an OEM 350 and the OEM 5.3. Adding a supercharger too?!?! Coolness !!!

That's OK. One thing most of us do understand is "life". It happens. Take your time, just be sure its right. Just hope its not one of those as normal. So now you have the funds but no time, then get laid off work, have plenty of time, but now no funds or better not use what funds you have laying around in case the off work period is longer than you thought. Its always good, especially in these days, to not be able to get to a project because you work to much.
