ive seen a guy install a zf into his truck he had to recreate his entire transmission tunnel

I would think it should fit on 4wd body with 1-2" body lift

personally I don't think a zf-6 or a nv5600 are worth the money. Its not like you get an extra overdrive gear compared to a nv4500 its like a .73(nv4500) .76(zf)

I got a 4 inch lift.... ok, so I have another question...if you refer the truck for 33 or 35s and have a big block can you still get decent milage? With the new gearing

I had 97 1 ton with big block and it consistently got 16-17 mpg on the highway mildly loaded and 12 with a trailer(6k pounds). In the city with not much traffic it would do 14mpg. It had the nv4500

with a square and a big block you will be lucky to get 10. didn't you say you wanted 500-650hp or was that someone else? if that's the case you will be lucky to see 5. highdesertranger

yea, i wanted to see 500-650 but I forgot that I had to gear the truck, once its geared ill have the same affect I'm thinking, when its geared ill only put a cam, intake manifold, exhaust and heads and call it a day for now, I at least till i can get a bike again or a cheap daily driver
