I'm not sure if it'll let me post the video, but I just picked up a 205 paired to a 465 for my truck. I got home, and noticed the front output flange on the transfer case is very wobbly. You can move the output shaft in, and out about 1/8" as well, but no side to side play.

Could the flange just be worn out? I'd think if it was a bearing let go, the output shaft would have play in all directions.

Check out "GebBuilt" on YouTube. He has a full by the book tear down and rebuild of a sm465 and an np205. I think even a 14 bolt rear axle. Great videos.

He actually joined the forum not super long ago too. I would guess you have a thrust washer broken or wore out. Could be a loose yoke, did you try tightening it up?

I'll check out his YouTube. I tried to tighten it up, but I couldn't get the nut to turn any more. I may slap the whole setup in the truck for now, but leave the front driveshaft out.

Basically im trying to have this swapped into my truck before the Shin Pond Squarebody Rally here in Maine. After that I'll pull it all back out to rebuild while I restore the rest of the truck.
