I just bought a 1977 Chevy 3500 crew cab long box with a 454 2wd duel tanks ac 3+3 and I was just wounding if first is it a rare truck and is it there any common issues I should watch out for and any tips or tricks with these trucks
Your biggest issues are gonna be parking it, turning it around, tight spaces, and since it's a big block, feeding it.....pull through parking spaces will be your best buds when you gotta go somewhere.
Family had several square body Burbs which are almost as big, and I currently have an OBS Crew Cab longbed that we DD in Houston, Texas as well as use to haul stuff.
The square 3+3 was not super common, because they were "work trucks" or tow pigs when new. You bought one if you needed to move several people often, plus have a truck bed, otherwise people bought a Burb. Even my '97 is one of only around 15,000 built that year, as opposed to a couple hundred thousand Burbs.
The interior is pretty much like a square Burb, but I don't believe the rear seat folds up like the Burbs do.
Got any pictures? Here is my truck, doing truck stuff.
