Battery Hold Down Bolt

I purchased a 8 mm x 1.25 bolt thinking it was what I needed (and parts stores say is right) but it is too large and 1/4" is too small. 5/16" is too large also. I purchased the large plastic hold down at NAPA.

I want to finally be able to drive my K5 but I need to have the battery secured. Anybody have a bolt or can tell me what to buy? I can't figure out what size I need.

Ran a 5/16" tap through the hole (suggested by a member on another site) and that did the trick! Just might come in handy for other members as well. Thanks fellas!
