    Brake hose replacement

Great tips in this thread. I figured out the hard way that its a lot easier to do the driver side first since there are no fuel lines in the way. Figuring out how the fittings work while fighting with the fuel lines sucks. For my 82, its pretty easy if you take the nut loose from the flare...

Dust Boot Cover for Slide Pin

My 82 C10 Suburban does not have rubber covers for the slide pins. Do our trucks normally have them? I can't find a picture of a C10 caliper that has a boot. Oreilly's and Advance don't have it listed.

    Suspension rebuild

Which spring did you go with? standard or heavy duty? The rock auto site lists the load height as 10" and free height as 13.64". My springs measure 10" in the vehicle, but the front looks really low in comparison to the rear.

    Axle swap guidance needed

I will definitely have to get rid of the 1982 bass boat in our backyard before I even broach that subject. On the other hand getting rid of the boat will make her do backflips. Who knew that following advice from this site could improve my marriage.

    Axle swap guidance needed

The PO of my 81 C10 Suburban let the differential leak out a quart or so of fluid. Between my bearings singing as I roll down the road, open diff, and 3.08 gears, I want a whole new axle assembly. I called around and parts are 750 with 500+- for labor. $1250 for a rebuilt 12 bolt sounds crazy...

I figured that out as soon as I hit submit. I can be a dork sometimes. Today I had a great Suburban experience. I needed to get some 4X8 sheets of plywood and hardi panel. I flipped down my second row and slid them in. So much better than hooking up a trailer to my trailblazer.

I'll post a pic this afternoon. Unfortunately he used his mechanic as an intermediary, so I didn't actually get to meet the man himself.

I had a 85 4x4 suburban in high school. I just bought a 81 C10 suburban to make into an awesome DD for my family. Coolest part is I bought it from Nolan Ryan, it was part of a ranch that he bought after retiring from baseball. It was always garaged. The interior looks new and I paid a whopping...

    17" Wheels on a C10

Has anyone installed 17” rims on a C10? I have a C10 1981 Suburban and like the idea of a 17” rim to reduce the sidewall height and flex while turning. I am looking for a tighter, more responsive feel and to fill out the wheel wells at the same time. I think a 275/60/17 would be a great size...
