Overdrive or lock up surge??
I just bought this truck and it has a 700r4 and what is said to be a trans rebuild and it does have a new converter in it. What happens is on the highway it shifts firm but sometime it likes to surge or either between the OD or the converter trying to lock up. I thought I would ask what it could...- TWISTER

305TBI to 350TBI
I have done some reading and wondered who has done this in a build thread and what is needed. I was planning on a vortec swap w a cam like suggested by Harris Performance but there sure seems to be a lot of money that needs to be spent on the TBI system to get it to work with a Vortec 5.7...- TWISTER

305 TBI to Best Bang for the buck engine upgrade
I just picked up a 1987 1/2 ton 4x4 chevy truck w 3/4 ton axles and 4:10 gears. IT is a no rust original paint truck but the 305 is not going to do it.
