    Seat recovering

Finally got around to installing the upholstery on my seats. Just the door cards to do once I replace the doors and add sound deadening.

I used some side cutters to cut the old hog rings. Went through like butter. Will see how the tool to do them back up goes

What did you pay for a square

Paid 12k NZD which is about $7400 USD. About 5k USD of that was transport to New Zealand.

What have you done to your square lately??

Fronts all together apart from the tie rod. Full strip down, new ball joints, bushes, bearings, ujoints and some eazy ride 4 inch leafs. Backs out and coming apart with some off-road design drop shackle kits. Has anyone had luck removing some springs out of the leaf pack for more flex and...

What have you done to your square lately??

You can get these stereos from Ali express, doesn’t play cds but Bluetooth works and I think they look pretty good. I’m going with 2x 3.5 in the front and 6/9s behind the seat with an amp/sub combo in a custom box.

    Help need with identifying belts.

Hey guys. I’m just about to replace the water pump so need to sort belts. What size are required for an 83 K20, it has air con, smog pump delete. The belts are so worn I can’t get any detail from them.

    I finally gave up.

I went with coverlay from summit. They had a good deal that came with decent door cards. I filled the cracks and sanded down the high spots, treated the little bit of rust underneath and then glued the coverlay over top.

    Gusseting corporate 10 bolt/ 8 lug.

Unfortunately I live in New Zealand. I doubt there would be a single d60 available in the whole country. Important if one is costly, let alone finding one second hand.

    Gusseting corporate 10 bolt/ 8 lug.

Yes I did mean gusseting, I’ll blame that on autocorrect. It’s pretty common here on Nissan Patrols and Toyota land crusisers. It won’t be the first time I’ve launched an off-roader and bent the front axels.

    Gusseting corporate 10 bolt/ 8 lug.

Good afternoon. Has anyone had success gusseting corporate 10/8lug diffs and was it worth it. Though I might do mine while it’s out and clean.

Need quick reliable answer please- ‘83 K20 front axle question

I have an 83’ it’s also got a corporate 10/8 lug in it. From what I’ve read they tend to bend if you bounce them and 37s break them. I’m running 37s on mine so I’ll see how they go. In this side of the world (Nz/Australia) a few vehicles have soft axel housings and we add gusting to them to...

Dose anyone have any wiring diagram for a 87 Silverado 4x4

    Here’s what I used http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?PHPSESSID=4942a6cb4fd79a2c45996bf7ed885017&topic=11766.0

A few steps involved for this. 1. Braking certification (requires rebuild of all brake components and replacement of rubber brake lines. Must stop in 4.4seconds from 100kph (60mph) 2. Certification for modifications (lift, larger tires, rockslides, bar work ect. They even carry out a stability...

Keeping it LHD at the moment. I imagine it would be pretty hard to source parts here to convert it. Eventually I want to change the front diff/axel to a Dana 60 but once again hard to organise over here.

    Lift recommendations.

So I’m ordering some HD shackle flips from ORD with Some HD front shackles. I’m going to take a couple of leaves out and get a local spring shop to reset the height. Hopefully that equals same lift + soft ride and more flex.

I I was thinking of doing this for the moment. Seems like shocks and everything else is already there to support 4 inch lift. I just read that the stock height from axel to chassis is 8.5 and I’m at 13.5. Likely I have a 4 inch lift and then they’ve extended shackle for a little extra. Maybe...

Good morning from New Zealand. Aka: lord of the rings land. I’ve just picked up this little beauty. She’s pretty tidy with just a touch of cancer sneaking in. There’d be only a handful of k20s over here with how tough it is to get a LHD vehicle registered in a RHD country. It’ll be a bit of a...

G’day Very strict regs in NZ. Any modifications from original design requires certification (from a automotive engineer.) As well as 6 monthly warrant of fitnesses (checking brakes, bushes, rust, damage ect). Can’t even register it until this is completed.

New fenders aren’t to hard to source here or to expensive so I might even buy another set incase one day it becomes a mall crawler. I’m looking at either a skyjacker or ez-ride 6 inch lift now and will be trimming the fenders as well.

Yea I’ve got the trim. All of the plastic clips are failing so will be ordering more. It’s more nice from a far. Grills cracking, suns got to the door cards, seats ect. It’s all being stripped out as we speak.

Thanks. It’s got 4 inches of blocks in the rear and the front leaf shackles have been cut and extended with 1 inch box section. By ORD do you mean offroad design?

Good morning all the way from New Zealand. I’ve just bought this K20 as a fresh import into the country. I’m looking at replacing the suspension as it’s current hacked and welded. I’m thinking of doing a shackle flip in the rear + a 2 inch lift (56 inch leafs). And 6 inch in the front. What’s...
