    Wiring harness options

I used AA on my 73 c10 build. It was the exact replacement wired from the original diagram. I was/am very pleased with layout. Everything fit perfectly. Their customer service is very knowledgeable and helpful. Ive never used another so nothing to compare it to.

    Question about headers

Some great arguments on both sides and lots of good information. I chose the Hooker manifolds and so far I am very pleased. My 350, .030 over, w/a 327 cam and Edlebrock manifold and carb. Uncapped it sounds so sweet. I love the fit and have fit my a/c comp. I haven’t driven it yet but will...

New to the square body group!

Welcome from central Commiefornia. That is a beautiful truck. IMHO as previously stated, I’d go back to original grill w/either HL. Maybe white two tone. Just not sure about the two tone-step side thang. It would definitely mellow it out. Enjoy it. Keep smiling. (I’m close to getting mine...

    Ammeter Fuse size?

Randy there are 2) 4a fuses as seen in the pic. It shows 3 fuses in dia., the duplicate (in red) only pertains if you have 2 pos. distribution blocks. The dia. is for a 73 but could be the same. My new AAW harness has the 2 fuses on opposite sides of engine, next to the firewall. The dia. shows...

    Getting quotes for paint/body work

I recently had my 73 C10 SB painted. There was a little rust to repair, and general prep. A painter that knew my son offered to do it for a little over cost of materials. It came out to $4500 and I gave him an extra $500. He really did a great job. Cab was painted a month before the rest. It...

What are your favorite/ best looking valve covers for SBC?

I put these back on my 350 after painting orange. Then I found this matching air cleaner. I like the look. (I did see the same valve covers for $280)

    New wiring harness difficulty

Great to see you trying to learn. I've been working on my sons '73 c10. I went with American Autowire and have been pleased so far. I got the Original Harness's, (headlight to tail, w/A/C) which come with no instructions or diagrams. AAw guys are very good at helping and are easy to get ahold...

    GAUGE CLUSTER

Randy There is a flat piece of fiber conductors riveted to the dash behind the”WINDSHIELD WIPER” sign on bezel. The conductors run up to a bulb base that mounts at the bottom of gauge cluster. I’m looking for the bulb base and fiber optic strip. Thx.

    Gauge cluster wiring

I am looking for the fiber optic strip that illuminates the windshield wiper on a '73 C10. If anyone has one or a source for one, please let me know. I am also going to be using a later model cluster with a tachometer. I am also using a voltmeter as opposed to the original ammeter. My question...

    73 c10 Windshield wiper switch back-light

I am searching for a replacement light. The windshield wiper switch is labeled above the switch, on the bezel, and is illuminated from behind with what i would call a fiber-optic ribbon light. It is riveted to the metal dash behind the bezel. I only wish I'd taped over it before the painter...

    Paint codes

So here are a few pics of my project. I ended up getting the paint to match the original. W/o any #s. I may need to have cab repainted as shade seems off a bit.Otherwise looks great. I’ll have a bunch of questions moving forward, but know this site has the answers or resources. Thx

    Paint codes

Thx for the info. The GM heritage site is a wealth of info. I believe I have the Glenwood Green and white two tone. It seems to be a rare combo. I don’t see too many looking through various sites. I will try to post some pics throughout my build.

    Paint codes

Thank you, I doubt that I will find one as this truck has been apart for a number of years. I am putting it back together for my son who passed a couple months ago. I am getting all my parts together and a wish list for parts I know of so far. I'll be looking for all the help I can get.
