Rear Gear Set for 84 K10
It was odd to me as well. When I bought a new diff/posi and set of gears for the car, I asked about carrier size as I would likely want to change gear ratio at a later date. I was told "there is no carrier sizing for this version rearend." Maybe I was told wrong or heard wrong. I just don't...- jking1118

I don't know, but I assume 3.08's. The later model 8.5's like my Impala don't have the "carrier" breaks. I remember that from my 60's 10 bolts and 12 bolts and having to match a gear set to a "series 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 carrier." I can use any gear from a 2.56 to a 4.56 on the diff/carrier in...- jking1118

Not really sure where else to check this, so any help would be appreciated. I have an 84 K10 Custom Deluxe, 305 with HD 4 speed manual. I want to upgrade to 3.73 gears.
