    PCV manifold or ported vacuum?

    carb number 17083442. Here is a photo of the vacuum diagram under my hood. It shows a hose from carb to T and one side of T goes to PCV, other side goes to Decel Valve (whatever that is), and small fitting on top of PCV valve goes to cannister.

    I have a suggestion, might be stupid. Do you have the fuel filter facing the correct direction??? IF it was in the wrong way, that would allow it to run when you fill the bowl, but not from the pump.

    My understanding is that is the choke pull-off. It is hooked to the choke linkage and also has to do with allowing the rear barrels to open.

    Mine will hit 20mpg or damn close to it if i can keep my foot out of it. Bone stock all emission equipment in place. It has always gotten 18 to 20 since new, whereas my 85 silverado I got new never got above 13 or 14mpg
