    What brand thermostat did you put in it? Most are made by Motorad (from Israel) and they seem to be hit and miss for quality. I have been using FlowKooler Robertshaw 330 series thermostats and will not go back. They are much better built. Summit carries them.

    3/4 tons in the 70’s that had the full-time 203 transfer case had front hubcaps that didn’t have holes in them because they didn’t come with lockout hubs. The hubs didn’t protrude out as far, so they fit behind hubcaps without needing a hole in them.

    I have found that Moto-Rad makes the majority of thermostats these days. The RobertShaw thermostats are top notch and can’t recommend them highly enough. Made in the USA. I have had mixed results with the Moto-Rad thermostats.

    Another thing to look for is the starter brace. If it is missing, the torque from the starter can break the engine block where the starter bolts go. Need to have that brace.

    Considering you are pushing a lifted pickup with the aerodynamics of a brick and running on 37’s, 11 mpg seems about what you probably can expect. If it were a warmed up gas big block, you’d probably be getting 8 mpg. Laws of physics are hard to overcome.

    Here is a picture of the master cylinder and hydroboost from underneath. Not the best picture, but best I could do laying on my back under there. This shows the leaking fluid I am seeing. I’m assuming it’s brake fluid, but not completely sure.
