Needs MORE POWER!!! (Tim Taylor Style!!!)

There's only two real solutions to this problem. The first one is displacement.. there really is no replacement for displacement. Drop a warmed over 454 in there and be done with it. Unless you are willing to do the second option, which is the only acceptable replacement for displacement...

I would really like a turbo 400 in my truck

I have a Figure 8 NP205, so that's what I needed to do. I swapped in a long 2wd output shaft when I rebuilt the 4L80 and added the rear reluctor gear at the same time. The TH400 I am replacing has the long ~4.5" output shaft, so you have top do that. On an 80's NP208, you don't need to do that...

    Need a breather for my 1987 7.4L "N", ideas?

These guys seem to have exactly what you are looking for. NOS or take-off used parts. https://newboyzsquarebodyrescue.com/products/tbi-valve-cover-breather-tube?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=5b2c499df&pr_rec_pid=6966919757891&pr_ref_pid=6977999405123&pr_seq=uniform

    fuel line clamps

The feed and return are zero PSI.. feed should actually be a vacuum most of the time. The only line on the pump that sees pressure is the outlet to the carb itself, and that is a solid metal line with a flare and tube nut.

Is this a good pattern for gm 14 bolt ff?

Looks great to me. That's pretty much exactly what mine looked like when I rebuilt the rearend a few years ago. Factory 8600GVW K25 with 350/TH400/NP205, 4.10's, and 35's. I've towed and hunted in it for years since the rebuild and had zero issues. I added a grizzly locker at the same time as...

    WANTED: Canopy for K20

I see them all the time around here. I'll keep an eye out for you. You might try hitting up ChadTheMan on facebook also. He has a squarebody scrap business in the BattleCreek area and might have a line on one for you.

Need help identifying 12v wire for electric choke

The factory setup in the later 80's models used a two prong NO oil pressure switch mounted in the 1/8 NPT port right above the oil filter. You would run a 20A feed from an ignition source in the fuse box to the oil pressure switch, then out of the oil pressure switch to the choke. This switch...

Changing An Automatic Flywheel Without Removing the Transmission

I had to do this on my LS when I forgot to torque the flywheel bolts on a 5.3 to 6.2 swap. I bought 4-1/2" long bolts from the hardware store, swapped them out on two top bolts and two side bolts. I was able to slide the 6L80 and transfer case back enough to remove the bolts, add red loctite...

What have you done to your square lately??

That looks exactly like the C.R.Lawrence back glass I got out of a junkyard for my truck. All aftermarket sliders use the factory non-slider gasket. As far as I know, there are no companies making a clear rear slider replacement for our trucks. Looks like Brothers bought them out at some point...

What have you done to your square lately??

It's a high temp because its in the pressure test port. That is the absolute worst place to put a temp sensor and borderline useless. You need the sensor in the pan or you aren't really getting any good info at all. The pressure test port is a dead head and is really only going to be giving you...

    Evaporator Housing Cover Necessary?

I got both from O'reilly. They have a 30/40 Amp one listed or a 15 Amp. I assumed the 30/40Amp was the correct one and it was not. The one I got that was not correct was PN: RY117. I then exchanged it for the(more expensive) PN: RY23, that says it is only rated for 15 Amps and it has been...

    Evaporator Housing Cover Necessary?

Also, my blower motor started acting up and it turned out to be a combination of a few things. The power feed for the blower motor goes through the fan switch, the resistor, the relay mounted next to the resistor and the blower motor on the housing, and then into the blower. So anything within...

    Evaporator Housing Cover Necessary?

Picture? I've never seen a cover over the housing that also covered the blower motor.

Pretty sure I blew a head gasket this morning....

Make sure to test the cap and the radiator separately. Make sure to test the engine side with it filled up with water. Attempting to pressure test an empty cooling system is a bomb waiting to happen.

Pretty sure I blew a head gasket this morning....

My first thought is that you should make sure you didn't lose a hose somewhere. All of your symptoms could have been from an air bubble in it from when you filled it back up or a blown/loose coolant line somewhere. If it had just gotten up to temp and the system pressurized for the first time...

    Modified engine crewcab gas mileage?

You have to run more timing on a lean mixture because the combustion happens slower in extreme lean conditions. You could actually be hurting the engine and not getting the real benefit of lean cruise in the 15-16AFR range. A lean mixture does have significantly higher EGT's than a stoich...

    LS regasket question

Yeah, I'm not buying new front and rear plates for no reason. 99% of the time you are replacing old gaskets and reusing the old covers. If you DID buy new covers and they came with gaskets pre-installed, I would personally try to just push the seals out without damaging them and then properly...

    Modified engine crewcab gas mileage?

You would need a dyno and pretty precise equipment to create one, but it is doable. I bet GM has the curves for all of their engines, especially the newer fuel injected ones. For fuel Injected engines I think you could get pretty close to accurate numbers using the logging function in HP tuners...

    LS regasket question

I have the mr. gasket crank seal tool and a different front tool I ordered. I just made a flat bar to bolt on for the oil pan. I suggested that tool set because it was cheap. If you already have all the other parts I would just make a flat bar you can bolt across the surface, because trying to...

    LS regasket question

Just save yourself the trouble and buy the tool set. They are like $20 on amazon. You should have a front, rear, and pan tool. Bolt the pan tool on the back and then slide the rear tool over the crank, it will center the cover on the crank and let you push it down flat against the pan rail tool...

    1980 C10 Cruise Control Switch 407437

Yeah, I have the rostra retrofit stalk and two relays converting the signals to the correct input for the GMT400 module. It only needs the 4 commands from the stalk and a VSS signal to function. Finding the correct cable to run from the module to whatever carb/EFI setup you have will be the...

    Modified engine crewcab gas mileage?

I'd avoid the ProFlo... I've heard nothing but bad things about their computer and the programming ability of it. Probably cheaper and easier to put a holley BBC manifold on it and run factory P01 or P59 ECU. You should be able to get a throttle body, pedal, wiring harness, and computer for dirt...
