What new tools have you got lately?
Got this in November and I'm impressed. This thing has gotten a bunch of problematic light strands working. Yeah, I know, not as impressive as a plasma cutter or even a socket set. But it does make a no-fun job a lot easier. -
Glow plugs half work
It's been a while, but my recollection is that there's fusible link and connections all through the harness. So you may have to unwrap the whole thing and go through every bit of it. The black rubber cylinder is the connection, the fusible link is the wire itself. I wouldn't be squirting...- Blue Ox

My '69 455 is red, and I think in the '80s they were blue. The gold engines started out as an incentive program in the factory in the early '70s IIRC. If an engine scored perfectly in QC checks on the first try they'd paint it gold. At some point the public heard about it and everyone started...- Blue Ox

The OPs truck was stock w/factory wheels. I was critiquing the current uninspired trend of dragging frames on the ground with rims that almost touch it as well. Good point. When we got our truck the first thing I pushed for was aftermarket wheels. The old man wasn't going to do it for reasons best dealt with elsewhere. In time, I really came to like the 16" white steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps. It has the alloys off the Suburban on it right now...- Blue Ox

Leave it alone. It's a survivor and should be respected. I never got the idea of making a truck look like the suspension had failed. While we're at it, what's with the giant-@$$ rims and rubber band tires? I can understand wanting larger rims than the factory 15s and 16s, but why you'd want...- Blue Ox

I think he meant cutting the wrench in half. Once the fitting has been broken free why not use an open end wrench as long as it's not fighting you for every turn?- Blue Ox

You sure you don't mean 8600? That would be a JB7 / C6P option. Otherwise it was probably retrofitted. -

I did the reverse on my differential when I put the chrome cover on it. All the bolts were painted black. -
700r4 TV cable cause acceleration/run away with 6.2?
Ours would stick sometimes after it was a few years old. However, it would just stick, not accelerate. You could get it back by smacking the pedal with your foot. It all went away when we replaced the throttle cable.- Blue Ox

As far as mounting the modulator there's very little difference between the various pumps. It's more likely the valve configuration has to do with fit and clearance. Probably also the requirements of the different transmissions. As far as it stating it's for Buicks or whatever, remember GM put...- Blue Ox

Olds 350 diesel to sbc swap
If you're set on running one tank follow the advice above. However, with a gas engine you may find yourself missing that extra fuel. You can just drain the tank and blow out the lines. As long as the fuel isn't contaminated it's nothing to worry about.- Blue Ox

@TheBigBlue2500 I'd suggest you check your exhaust for a harmonica or the whistle that came with the Turbodiesel badge, because there is no turbocharger on that engine. :(- Blue Ox
