Brake pedal needs manually reset after depressing

I didn't have any pedal problem with my hydroboost, but I did have a moan/groan noise intermittently in my Burb. I had just replaced a leaking hydroboost with one I pulled off a donor truck. Luckily I decided to replace the pump and not swap out the booster. Haven't heard any noise in over 6...

I pull filler necks off all the trucks I strip. They are a good selling part around here in PA.

    Prop value reset

Did anyone else notice the compression fittings on the brake lines at the master cylinder? They should never be used on brake systems.

Tire time need thoughts on slight size change

I keep all my tires at 45psi for daily driving. I add 10-15 psi in rear tires when loaded. I don't tow anything heavy with it, so i never air them up to max 80 psi. I use my truck for heavy stuff.

Tire time need thoughts on slight size change

I am running a LT265/75R16 on my 2wd Suburban. They work great and look nice on a 2 wheeler.

Tire time need thoughts on slight size change

Just remember you are going to lose some hauling capacity. Your going from a tire with a 3042lb max load to a tire with 2680lb if you drop to the 225.

Are there different rear windows from 73-75 and 76-87??

I've removed lots of glass over the years stripping trucks for parts. I've never successfully installed a windshield or backglass myself. I just have local glass shop install after destroying several. Lube is definitely needed for removal and install.

Are there different rear windows from 73-75 and 76-87??

According to the GM catalog they should be the same from 74-88. There is something diff about a 73 glass. I think it's the molding. There is 2 diff moldings, 1 with chrome and 1 w/o chrome reveal strip

402 Experts... Tell me what you know

I agree on the heads. big square ports are best for race cars and smaller oval ports are for making torque in a street engine. my engine in my Chevelle isn't a powerful engine, probably in the 360 hp range. But I have had no problem destroying many tires and multiple clutches over the years of...

    Driveline Opinions

I had a limited slip posi in the frt axle on my last truck. With the frt hubs locked in you could not turn the truck on dry pavement. Worked fine of course with 4WD disengaged

402 Experts... Tell me what you know

I Have a 69 Chevelle with a 396 .030 over. They are great torq motors. I had it rebuild about 30 years ago. All stock except for a mild cam. Biggest draw back that I can think of is limited options for pistons.

Which wire do I need to tap into?

I would just trace the wire out from the starter solenoid and add a switch inline to it wherever you can find a good spot to hide it. I have had 2 trucks over the years that were heavily modified with wiring problems. It's not fun for sure.

    Setting Pinion Depth

I also reuse old shim to set it up. Check the gear pattern and then change it if pattern is off. unless you are doing a major gear change, like going from 3.08 to 4.56 original shim will work or be close to what you need.

    37x12.50r15!?!?

You'll have to go up to a 17" or 20" wheel. Even 16" is limited to 35's for a milder tire

    I can't drive.....fifty fiiive

Have u tried starting out in 2nd gear? I only use 1st gear when I'm towing and I'm shifting to 2nd at maybe 5mph! I have the later version with the higher ratio 1st gear. I running 3.73 with a 31.5" tall tire.

    Carb with no choke

I don't have chokes on my Chevelle's and they are a bear to start in temps below 50. The electric ones work great. the old mechanical ones like on the Qjets are fussy sometimes with sticking linkage.

    Barn door won't open

Yes they are just stuck. Every barn door Suburban I've bought for parts always had a stuck latch. Just spray it real good and try to jar the latches with a large screwdriver (carefully).
