    Issues with new engine

You sure you got the intake sealed good? Tuned on the carb any or just slapped it on? What make carb? Ran a vac gauge test on it yet? Plugs look like they're burning rich/lean/ok? Lots of questions

I knew this trans was dead... TH350 Rebuild

Yes. The sun gear has an oil hole that if you double up the bushings the oil hole gets blocked. Re-drill the hole through the bushing by going through the oil hole in the sun gear. Cool let me know how that goes! A little more stall on the converter will make it more funner

    SOB’s Trailer Thieves !!!

I ran a chain through both rear wheels and locked the lock over the axle. If they gonna steal it they gonna DO WORK!

Frame crack on 75 K20 passenger side front by shock. Every seen crack like this??

LOL looks like Ray Charles welded that with his feet! Grind that out and plate it.

Bigger tires on 2wd - what to do?

You may not want to hear this but lowering it a couple inches in the back would help the stance, but if you do a lot of heavy hauling that might not be the best plan for you.

Deciding on 12 bolt limited slip

Your old shims will get you close, then smear some white lithium grease on the ring gear teeth to check the pattern. Google "ring and pinion mesh pattern" and hit images and it will give you examples of good and bad patterns. Setting backlash is where you will likely have trouble if you don't...

    engine troubles

First thing I would do is determine if the side that's smoking is the side that has the 305 head. If so, more than likely the compression has blown the head gasket. Not a complete blowout but enough to get coolant in the combustion chamber. The spark plug in the affected cylinder should confirm...

    Vortec Heads Question

The Summit brand heads above may be the better choice between the two, since they allow for greater valve lift just beware the installed valve springs might not be strong enough to prevent valve float at high RPMs. But they do come with screw-in rocker studs which is a bonus. Just keep in mind...

14b ff vs 14b sf width

You are correct, I re-read the bible and it said the hubs interchange but can offset the WMS measurement if mix-matched, which may be the case here.

    pinion angle

I have ORD's 4" shackle flip kit and it does pitch the pinion up a little but I haven't had any problems with it, just make sure your axle has enough oil in it to keep the pinion bearings lubed. Also the axle offset plates are a good idea, I moved mine back 1.5" and it looks more centered in the...

I knew this trans was dead... TH350 Rebuild

I only used 1 check ball during my TH350 rebuild, makes for harder shifts. Hopefully he left the correct one in lol. I also drilled the separator plate feed holes out to 1/8" to increase line pressure, doubled up the bushings in the sun gear and re-drilled the oiler hole, set up internal...

    Well What A Day!

Hide an on/off switch in the cab somewhere, wire it to batt +, then to a hazard relay, then to 2 doorjamb switches, one at the gas door and one under the hood, then back to your horn. If either are opened the horn should beep on and off like a car alarm. You just have to remember to turn it off...

    Rust covertors

This was the best stuff I'd ever seen but you cant find it anymore. You had to use gloves or it would burn your skin which might be why you cant find it anymore lol. Went on clear, converted rust to zinc oxide.

    Mechanical to electric cooling fan

I'm thinking the single fan would work much better than duals. Dual fans would provide redundancy sure, but if only one fan is running it is effectively drawing air across the radiator as well as from the opening of the non-running fan. It would only be running at optimal efficiency of both fans...

    1975 K20 turbo 350...should it have K case??

77 is the year break I think, that was the first year the NP205 was available in the K10s

    '79 Camaro Restomod

Roadkill had a neat tip for motor mounts. They said get a caulking tube of "windshield adhesive" and inject it into the voids in your stock motor mounts. It sets up stiffer than silicone, and stiffer than the rubber the mounts are made of, and keeps them from tearing apart under load making them...

Odd ball transmission identification and fix

One of those pics looks like it has a top loader shifter like a floor shift. Might be an SM435 if it is. EDIT nevermind, I see the shifter rods on the side.

There's not a lot of difference between the D44 and the corporate 10 bolt but many people believe the D44 to be far superior.

    NV4500

http://offroaddesign.com/Ford%20D60%20Tech.html It seems there are several negatives to the F*rd D60s (imagine that lol). I want to do an NV4500 in dad's old square but want to adapt the NP205 to it instead of going for the F*rd parts. Also the 92-93 has the "mule gear" 1st gear just like the...

    NV4500

Around here $750 ish is good for the 94-up, 92-93 pull closer to $1000. You can run a F*rd front high pinion Dana 60 and the driver side t-case output wont matter. Otherwise you'll have to install an adapter to run an NP205 (which is the only t-case I would bother adapting to it, and adapters...
