Picked up a couple of oil filter sockets. While the '77 C10 is easy to do, the '01 Jeep and '13 Dart are not. Now they'll be a piece of cake. -

If the code sticker is still located in the glove box you can get the paint code from it. -

Finally got the PS pump installed. No leaks, no runs, no errors. Bled the air and took it for a drive. This coming Spring I'll do the flush. -

I received the new power steering return hose in the mail today so I cut it to length and installed it. I filled the reservoir and turned the pulley shaft by hand a few times just to see how it felt (ok). I decided to let it sit for awhile to to see if there would be any leaks with no pressure... -

I installed the pump back in the truck but I couldn't complete the job as the return hose broke in half while preparing to hook it up to the pump. Bought enough fluid to do the flush once I get a new hose attached. -

So far everything is going well.I put it all back together this evening. Putting the pulley back on was somewhat of a pain. It kept wanting to go on at an angle. Once I got it straightened up then it went on pretty easy. -

Painted the mounting brackets, pulley, and reservoir, using engine paint. Once they dry completely I'll put it all together. -

Finished rebuilding the steering pump assembly. It took a while as there was sludge build up on all the internal parts, as well as the reservoir. Removed it all with brake cleaner, rags, and a brillo pad. Next up is painting the reservoir, reassembling everything, and reinstall the whole thing... -

Disassembled the PS pump this afternoon and cleaned internal parts. The rebuild kit I bought looks to be the right one. I've got to take a wire wheel to the body and reservoir so I can repaint it, or my OCD will drive me nuts. The hardest part so far has been getting the whole thing out of the... -

Finally had time to pull the power steering pump. It wasn't a piece of cake. Spent quite a while with a wire brush and brake cleaner getting the built up crap off the thing. I found out I have to have a pulley removal/installer tool. I'll pick up a cheap one at HF tomorrow. -

Just got a call from the kids. They say I'll be there for Thanksgiving to be around the family, or else. Guess I'll to do the rebuild tomorrow. I'll try to post some pics while I do it, if I remember to take some. lol -

My power steering pump has been leaking like a sieve so I'm going to try to rebuild it. This will be a first for me. Fingers crossed. -

Let's back up the boat here. Has anyone hooked a set of gauges to the low and high side? If so what are the pressures? How much R134 was the system filled with? Can we verify the system held a vacuum before the charge was put in?
