I have a mechanically sound 86 C10 that I've had slightly over 100mph several times. I'll cruise my 84 K10 on I-95 at whatever speed traffic is moving. 85 mph for hours at the time. My trucks are solid and well maintained though. I've rode in shitbox squares that dont feel safe at any speed.- donnieray

Min Starters not all created equal
Good info, I'll be switching to the mini starter on my rigs whenever I have to replace one. Aren't the bolts shorter so you have to buy bolts for the same model as the starter? My 85 K that's in storage has the mini starter but I bought it that way.- donnieray

PCV valve rattle when running
My daily is a 350 set up much like yours and the pcv rattles like hell too. It's did it since the engine was new. I've changed the valve out to an AC Delco unit and no change. It dont bother me anymore. Three years now and its a very tight reliable engine.- donnieray

Catalytic converters: does your square have them?
I live in a NC county that don't do emissions inspections but if cats were standard on your junk then they do a visual. Most towns have places that uh, don't notice if they are missing. I have true duals and dynaflows or magnaflows on my stuff. My daughter lives in a NC county that smog checks...- donnieray

np208 won't shift to neutral or 4 low
There is a possibility that some one has installed mounting bolts that are too long and interfering with the shift fork mechanism. It's not uncommon because the threads in the aluminium housing can get stripped and a longer bolt will contact some good threads and fix one problem while creating...- donnieray

AC Pulley / Belt Alignment
The problem with the alignment on my 84 K10 was the spacers at the PS pump mounting bolts. The po had installed a crate 350 in place of the stock 305 and had apparently lost or left spacers that are about 1/2" thick. I figured that out by checking out a completely stock truck.
