    New air filter came yesterday. So new filter and painted lid are on now. Much better.

    Painted the air filter lid satin black. The aluminum was just not cutting it. Even after cleaning it up.

    Drove the 84 to work this morning. It runs so much better now than it did before with the edelbrock carb. It runs so smooth at the light now i thought it died. Lol

    On my 4th starter

    When i had this problem with the 84 starter. Was it a 84 caprice starter for a 305 that you told me to try? Because that fixed my problem.

    Got the quadrajet on and he's running like a champ! Had to do a little fabrication to the throttle cable bracket and carb spacer but it works great. Gonna pick up another throttle spring and that should be it. Had to grind clearance for the throttle linkage because it was hitting the spacer...

    What new tools have you got lately?

    Had to go get some longer bolts for the quadrajet. While I was there I picked up a bolt and nut gauges. I've needed one for a long time now. This one's pretty nice and about half as much as others I've looked at. Plus it mounted on the wall.

    Had the led light but just rigged it up so I can hang it under the hood so I can see better. Works pretty good. Can definitely see better.

    Got the spread bore spacer in today. I'll get it on Saturday because we're going to see the documentary of led zeppelin in imax tomorrow night. Should be cool. Came with three gaskets and the bolts to mount it.

    Yes, because it's an adapter for a spread bore to square bore. I've ordered a spread bore yo spread bore spacer since the intake is a spread bore. That pos edelbrock carb is a square bore. I think that's why it ran bad because they put a square bore on a spread bore plus the back barrel flaps...

    I just removed the pos edelbrock carb and it looks like i won't need the adapter for the quadrajet like I thought I would. It looks like a spread bore intake is already on it. Right? The quadrajet should bolt right up I'm thinking. Or would it hurt to use the adapter plate?

    Got the fuel line inlet fitting today fir the quadrajet. Forgot the back vacuum hose fitting tho. Have to get one tomorrow. Oh BTW if you don't know auto zone sucks big ones. O' reily got it for me. Smh

    That's why I bought the mounts and paid 200 bucks to have them replaced. Lol Kudos to you for doing it. Not an easy job. Nice to have a lift to use too.

    What new tools have you got lately?

    Won this fan at our Christmas party yesterday. Works well. Especially when the ac isn't working in the shop. Only bad thing is no battery or charger for it in the box. I don't think I'll spend the money on them either.

    Because they sell rebuilt ones too for about 75 bucks less. They also sell holley and edelbrock carbs too incase anyone wondered. Great carb company.

    Got it unpacked. She's a beut! New and shinny. That winter last long but hey looks great now. And super pleased with the carb. Bit high but imo worth it. This is the second one I have bought from them. The other one is a level 2 for engine with intake, cam and hedders. My vacation starts this...

    New quadrajet from nationalcarburetors.com showed up this morning. Now can't wait to get home and get it ready to put on the 84. Ordered it wendsday, so fast shipping. Got the doorbell camera guarding it till then. Lol
