'73 Chevelle SS Wagon (local find)

Yes, if you look at the back cover or last pages there are usually comments to that effect. The car is so rare though, unless you are doing a concours grade restoration, it wouldn't matter. But if you can find the parts for the sway bar installation, and you want one, go for it. In the end, it's...

'73 Chevelle SS Wagon (local find)

That's interesting....you could be absolutely correct about the sway bar not being available with the base engine. If you could get a look at the big Chevrolet dealership flip book that has all the models, colors and options availability lists, that might give you a better idea. I had one for a...

'73 Chevelle SS Wagon (local find)

Here's an article about the '73 SS wagon with some pictures. Probably nothing you don't already know, but I thought of you immediately when I saw it.

    How about a NEW squarebody?

I dunno, they look kinda tough. Lots of guys on gmt400 forum get them for their newer trucks, to retrofit. And the Australian Holden Suburbans used the quad beams, as the composite headlights didn't meet their lighting codes. So they look cool and tough in the later style grille as well.

    How about a NEW squarebody?

Picture #3...my two favorite generations of GM trucks! 1988-89 since the gold OBS at the back has the quad sealed beams.

Opinions on best newish Suburban or Tahoe

I personally would recommend a GMT 400 Burb over an 800 one. The 400s have the 350 or 454 available (big block in the 2500 and you can find them with the 14 bolt FF axle, and 2500 also had the 4L80E). My family has had two different 400('99) C1500 Burbs; first one got totaled in 2012, bought...

    Nice squarebody on BaT

Yup, our '81 Sierra shop truck had dual 16 gallon tanks, from the factory. The '78 had dual 20s. Both were C15 long bed GMC.

What have you done to your square lately??

If you or someone close to you has a Costco membership, they have Michelin wiper blades, for around $11 each. Going to get a pair for the daily.

    Motortown Impact Package for Suburbans?

Those mirrors were available in the aftermarket. We had them in our store, but I don't remember the brand.

Period correct wheels for 86 K10 Stepside?

I agree, the Rallye wheel that was most commonly used on the square body trucks and Burbs was the 15x8. There is a 15x7 version but they're not as common. These were options for the C and K models in 5 lug and 6 lug. 8 lug trucks back then had to make do with the white steel wheels and dog dish...

    Show your daily driver

This is how much ended up on it. I brushed it off with a broom after taking these as it was stuffed in between the grille and brush guard, and I wanted to be sure it would start and run okay (took a few cranks but it did start and run okay).

Square body truck diecast for sale

I still have the orange '73 Jimmy from the previous post, plus I found this one while gathering up stuff before the cold snap. This is one of the M2 1/24 scale Coca Cola vehicles I posted about a month or so ago. First one of the squares I've seen in a store in a while.... Also picked up the...

What new tools have you got lately?

I guess those are for later model rigs than my old stuff.... I get by just fine with the AC cup wrench that fits the AC Chevy oil filter.

What new tools have you got lately?

I have some that Dad got years ago; I've never used them. But I can see they would be helpful in tight spots.

What new tools have you got lately?

I saw those Craftsman wheel sockets at Lowe's the other day, don't remember what they wanted for them.

What have you done to your square lately??

I know on my Vortec OBS trucks with 5.7s, the TPS and IACV often go out in sequence. Now my trucks, unlike the TBI trucks, don't need a relearn procedure for these sensors. But both of them ran better after they were replaced; in both cases, replacing the original factory installed pieces.

    Southeastern GM Truck Nationals.......... 2025

In our younger days, we'd make a run like that, straight through. Now we'll stop every couple of hours to walk around and make a pit stop. And sometimes it can take two hours just to get out of the Houston area.... Google Maps also uses an average speed of 65-70 mph too, and you're not always...

    Southeastern GM Truck Nationals.......... 2025

I wish I could go...have to take too many days off from work though, to go. That's two days each way from Houston....

First real drive! Not tragic but not good. I think I need carb advice.

On the emblem: does it have one mark on the edge where the nameplate would be attached, or two? A good shot of the edges of it would help with identifying it. IIRC there are different colors used on different years, and between Chevy and GMC. But it's most likely part of a fender badge, 73-80.
