My cousin (the one with the '60 Impala) had a '64 C10 for many years. After that, sold because the mileage (or lack of) was eating all his paycheck, he had a couple of TBI GMT 400s. Those are long gone and his current (retirement) truck is a '66 C10. He's so old school he makes me look good!

    European 86 C20 454

Beautiful Burb, welcome to the forum from Houston, Texas. My family had 5 square body Burbs, and the '84 and the '90 had the blue velour interior with power locks and windows. So the interior pics look very familiar!

What have you done to your square lately??

Dexcool does not play well with other coolants.... It was designed to be changed every few years, and problems arise when it stays in too long or gets mixed. Stuff in my crew cab is icky looking, but until it's water pump and hose time, it doesn't leak so it's staying.

Kick panels, bumper fangs, and a couple more hubcaps for sale

Oh kay.....the bumper guards/fangs/thingys appear to be the 73-80 style, and I'll take $85 for the pair. Or suitable trades....

Kick panels, bumper fangs, and a couple more hubcaps for sale

Looking at the profile in the pics on your build thread, I believe the guards/fangs I have are the 73-80 style. What's wrong with the ones that were on the Blazer in those original pictures?

Kick panels, bumper fangs, and a couple more hubcaps for sale

If somebody had a contour profile of the early and late bumpers, then we could see for sure what I have. But just looking at them, looks like the '73-'80 bumper....

What yr grill is this ?

IIRC they sort of press on. There's some notches on them that may go on bumps on the plastic....I think Dad used a small straight blade screwdriver and a putty knife to get them off. The ones I have for sale, he got them off several grilles and paid $$$ to have a guy in Austin restore them...

What yr grill is this ?

As far as I know and have seen, the feature line/raised panel on the square body hoods was not on them till the '79 models. I would figure the '77 mentioned, had the hood replaced at some point. When our '78 Sierra shop truck got wrecked in May of '79, the hood wasn't replaced, because it came...

    Brush Guard, watchu tink?

In Houston that works to a degree. There's still some idiots that'll pull out in front of you.... But Rawhide is a bit intimidating. No idea what brand, came with the truck. I have two similar ones in the shop, neither entirely complete. Got one at the U Pull And Pay a couple years ago on 50%...

Factory power steering cooler? 1991 Suburba

Yup that's where it is. Why I can't get a good picture of it, especially with the brush guard in the way too. I think I have about $10-15 in that one, not much. Apparently the older ones are not painted because I have seen them rusty several times. Good to know there is a new alternative with...

    OEM grille material

At least on the squares you have the separate headlight bezels, so if someone hits a corner it doesn't destroy the entire grille..... Got a corner whack on the Burb a couple years ago and just the grille was over $400. Other driver's Allstate paid for it though. Total damage was over $2500...

Movie filming in OKC next week needs old trucks

Shoot my crew cab WAS an old farm/ranch truck, from down by San Antonio.

Factory power steering cooler? 1991 Suburba

This is the style I am talking about. I got this off an OBS dually, but my Crew cab has one as well. It's kinda tucked under the edge of the grille opening so difficult to get a picture of it installed. These are apparently unpainted from the factory. Rust on this looks like surface rust, I got...

Movie filming in OKC next week needs old trucks

Interesting, I wondered at the time, if it was for that, because of the way they worded some of the requests. If I had had more advance notice, I would've tried to get in on it. I wasn't working then, and neither was my brother. He actually has certification for digital media from Houston...

    Just another R30 Crew Cab

Crew cabs seriously rule! On our brother forum last year.... Truck Of The Year 2023(over VERY stiff and more worthy competition, we had some killer trucks in the contest with serious mods).

Factory power steering cooler? 1991 Suburba

The OBS trucks use this kind of power steering cooler too, but there is a better option. The later ones with HD towing package, and the big blocks and all 3500s got a finned version. I thought I had a pic of it, but I'll have to get it tomorrow (part is out at the shop building 10 miles away).

Where to buy stock mechanical fuel pump that isn't trash?

We always used AC fuel pumps on our squares; that's what we carried in the store. And yes, one year, 20-25 years ago, we were headed up to Decatur, Texas for the swap meet in late February, and the fuel pump decided to die on the '79 Burb. Right in the middle of freaking I 45 too... Luckily we...

Maybe so...the early style OBS ones I have, have the flaking paint too. Perhaps that galvanizing is why? Paging @Keith Seymore ....

Do I have Steering Pump w/ Hydroboost?

HB has a booster unit that looks pretty much like this photo. OBS and NBS trucks are fairly similar looking; I've had an '06 with HB and my '97 crew cab 3500 has it too. Vacuum booster looks like a big metal drum between the master cylinder and the firewall. Usually cadmium plated so it looks...
