How do yall ground your Alternator?

Yes, not much point in running it to the block though. It’s already ground to the block through the mounting bolts

How do yall ground your Alternator?

Stock trim they usually ground to the engine block through the housing. To upgrade add a heavy gauge wire to the frame or negative battery terminal Stereo guys running big amps do the “Big 3” - heavy gauge charge wire - heavy gauge Alt ground to battery - heavy gauge body ground Or the...

'73-87 Flat Bed from OEM Fleetside floor?

Don’t flatbeds usually sit entirely above the tires? For the bed floor and wheel wells to be converted to run a different bedside it would need to have rather tall sides this not being a flatbed.

Dang, I would have driven over and picked it up for you too. It could have sat in the driveway until you figured out how to get it back home. That’s about 2 hours away from me

    ls3 swap bell housing w/pictures

Jeeze… I’ve never messed with LS stuff other than my wife’s Yukons over the years. I kinda looked into this and it seems like people have more issues with the flywheel & pilot bearing combo. No one on the interwebs talks about bellhousing bolts. There is this bell housing kit but they are...

    Where to go for alignment?

Check your hubs first, jack up each side then quickly and forcefully rock the tire up/down, like pushing the top of the tire towards the engine and pulling it away. Sometimes a pry bar can be used between the pavement and bottom of the tire to add a little extra force to this job. There...

    Where to go for alignment?

All good… I was typing when you posted or I probably would have given you some credit. Stringing is a great way to measure for alignment, and I’m confident you can explain how to get it done. I personally wouldn’t bother with strings unless it was crabbing down the road. There are no...

    Where to go for alignment?

Set the toe and center the steering wheel… Make yourself a set of toe bars (or buy them for like $80) Set the axle on jack stands Set the toe in in the front by 1/16” - 1/8” using the tie rod adjuster Put everything back together Alignment done! If the steering wheel is not centered Adjust...

    What is this?

It's definitely a bus bar for power... Several of the ones I have see though have a wire with fusible link going from the right side down to the bulkhead (backside of the fuse block) on the firewall.

    Starter wiring problems

Unhook the purple wire from the starter solenoid, use a test light to see if it gets power when the key is turned to the "Start" position.

    Starter wiring problems

ETA: I'm a dummy... Didn't realize you are not the OP. Is the battery grounded to the engine block? there should be a heavy battery cable going from the negative terminal to the block somewhere I was kind of wondering if its the giant cable connected to the alternator mounting bracket, it...

‘83 K5- driveshafts reinstallation without match marks?

Like @Grit dog said... I'd probably just run it. If it vibrates in 2wd consider reorienting the rear joint at the slip yoke. If no vibes in 2wd but has bad vibes in 4wd I don't think I would bother with trying to rebuild the front double cardan again, there's probably 4 different ways that...

    Single din install problem

If your metro kit doesn't work out... I fixed one like this for the highshool kid that used to mow my lawn, he had a K5 that someone cut up for like a DIN & Half. I just used a scrap piece of thin soft sheetmetal and a few low profile sheetmetal screws, no real need to weld the radio hole up it...

    Headlamp Adjusters

lol…. All mine were green except one white, I figured one of them broke at some point in history and was just replaced with whatever was available. That’s rad you have NOS parts, I was really careful with mine planning on reusing but they were dried up and brittle. I just replaced them with...

350 vortec 5.7 lower intake leaking vacuum?? Help please

All good Sir. If you haven't already scrubbed and scraped everything clean, pay close attention to the gasket mating surfaces back there near 6&8. See if you can identify if water has made a path from that rear coolant passage to those intake runners. It doesn't really do a whole lot of good...

350 vortec 5.7 lower intake leaking vacuum?? Help please

It was the runner for #5 that had the suspected oil puddle right? I'd bet your injectors for holes 5 & 7 are leaking down and washing those intake runners with raw fuel every time you shut the engine off, that's why they're so clean. That or the coolant port right there was pissing water down...
