    I have seen transmissions push fluid out of the filler tube. It might be worth cleaning the outside of the filer tube, and then rubber band a small amount of paper towel around it. Then check it the next time you have fluid on the ground.

    Are these That's exactly what I was thinking. My guess is that the engines started having oil pressure issues, or lifter noise - so the motors went to the junk yard, and then this guy bought them.

    Do you mean the kickdown linkage? If so: I would disconnect the cable at the transmission and see if the transmission shifts into higher gears. If it won't shift out of fist with the cable disconnected, then the cable is not the problem.
