WTB : Instrument Panel Bulb Holders BIGGER than 5/8"

Does anyone happen to have some of the larger sized bulb holders for sale ? This 5/8" as shown from Classic Parts is too small. Dunno if this is an 80 up thing or just my truck ... Thanks in advance ! Britt

What have you done to your square lately??

Looks good ! :waytogo: And, right now, leaving it off and possibly gaining 1 - 2 MPG ( I know, guess ) might just be worth it ...

    Rattling speedo cable

Was the cable lubricated? Something quick and fairly easy to check. If not, you can get to the spring clip that holds the cable to the speedo without taking anything apart in the dash. Just find the cable closer to the firewall and walk up it with your hand to the speedo. IIRC the cable...

What have you done to your square lately??

Got Goldie back from the doc's- oil pressure gauge is pretty accurate. 32 psi hot oil pressure at 2000 rpm. Blech. The motor will live on it, but not so sure on my sanity. :boxed: No actual brake work done, but professional advice including that the rear shoes could be adjusted out more...

What have you done to your square lately??

Well, kind of sorta counts . Got a letter stating that my credit card dispute with the CA carpet vendor has been resolved in my favor. So, either need to find out from LMC when they think their back ordered brown Sub carpet might be in, or give the other ass clowns a second chance but with a...

What have you done to your square lately??

Attempted Sunday to take the oil pressure sending unit off - was going to see if maybe there was some crud in the inlet. All I can say is - HOW? I got a wrench on the nut portion and the sender and the brass tube portion seemed like they were turning. Maybe so, but I sure did not...

    $500 K20 Burb in Seattle

LOL - maybe they don't know what they are looking at. A TBI is a pretty clean looking carb like device ... :anitoof: But, sadly, you may be right.

    How do I lift my 2WD ‘87 R10?

The 75 GMC 1/2 ton we had cam from the PO with heavy duty - maybe 3/4 ton - coil springs up front. I remember the upper control arms being shimmed to all get out - now I think I know why. A GM control arm front end has a shorter upper control arm - when the back of the truck is lowered, and...

    Shift indicator not working

@Raider L is your guy. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/gluing-in-the-broke-out-piece.35363/ Here he used Quick Grip - never heard of it, but maybe he would recommend this for your job, too.

    Shift indicator not working

Do you have the piece that broke ? If so, maybe glue it back together? If not, not sure how you are going to do your idea , but it seems reasonable, and easier, that replacing the cluster plastic. A smooth bolt with some sort of ridge to keep the cable from moving too far out of a straight...

EGR Solenoid California Emission 1985 305

I'd mimic the way your schematic is drawn with the hoses. So, upper right port is vacuum from the back of the carb. Lower right to the EGR, and the port on the left to the front of the carb. Might just work. :waytogo:

    Steering column removal

The 2 connectors pictured there - turn signal switch & what looks like a wiper switch, but yours is an 81 - ?? will come apart when you push on that black tab and push them apart. The 2 connectors for the ignition switch IIRC have a metal strip that holds them down - you can just pry that up...

    Ignition Switch Adjustment

Assuming the switch is still good, try adjusting it so you have the switch as far towards the seat as possible. Non tilt pushes the rod down, so hopefully that gets you enough travel. Non tilt switches are different than tilt, but the wiring connectors are not- they are just end over end...

    Converter Lockup?

Can't say on a 700R4, but the TH350C in Goldie has the TCC, and the PO had a toggle switch mounted in the dash to control it. I turn it off in stop and go traffic. It seems like the truck likes to get the lurches at slower speeds and light throttle otherwise. Free bump for you, though...

    Ignition Switch Adjustment

IIRC, the tilt column will pull the rod and a non tilt pushes it towards the firewall. Maybe try putting the switch in the run position, then hook the rod on and snug the bolts. If you get a start and the accessory, you are good. If you get start and no accessory, well, that may be close...

    Problem getting a 1979 GMC 350 running

LOL - I had a '79 Z28 I bought off the original owner for 1300 bux in '92. The AC still worked ... :Big Laugh: At any rate, same issue - the valve stems had mushroomed and the rocker would walk right off of it. So ... I bought some push rod girdles , dremeled a bit on the head so they...
