    Tilt steering column?

I've been thin and thick in my 78 Scottsdale 4x4 over the years. The tilt wheel did help quite a lot when the belly would push up against it. The only bad thing is the angle of the wheel isn't as pleasing during the drive. BUT...it does give us big boys more room under the wheel with the legs...

    LMC Parts

I figure out what I needed from LMC, research on google and find the part number, then I buy on amazon. they have everything from timken bearings to yukon axles to mile marker hubs. I absolutely refuse to pay the outrageous shipping costs LMC charges. Why? because F*** them thats why.

    78 Scottsdale Wheel Stud Weirdness

You guys were right! used an old large nut and a lug nut and synched em down pretty tight. Turned it over and she was snug as a bug. Thanks for everyone's input. You guys rock!

    78 Scottsdale Wheel Stud Weirdness

So I got my new wheel studs, brake rotors and hub together today. I put the studs in and pounded those guys in like I've seen many people do. BUT, for some reason the damn rotor just isn't held down well to the hub. Its a fraction of a hair away from getting, but for my life I just cant get it...

Green Gas Monkey Wrecked Truck being rebuilt.

I dont think its so much GMC as it is GasMonkey. Those guys just slap **** together and make it look nice. They have no respect for a clean build....just fast money.

What have you done to your square lately??

I've thought about it. Its ultra hard and doesn't come off easily so painting over it with something that's NOT translucent like this junk may be ok. I'm gona test on some other parts this weekend. this part is original and Id like to keep it. Thanks for the post SBS.

What have you done to your square lately??

Catbox yours look amazing. Ya, after I find a way to get the por-15 off my original caliper I am going to research what you have shown here. Powder coating is $150.00 per caliper at elite powder coating here in Tucson. That's just a bit much I feel. I like the way yours looks. Thanks for the pics!!

    NP203 to NP208 swap?

The 208 isn't as sturdy as the 203 is, so if strength is an issue a 208 isn't the case for you. You will also need an adaptor and drive shaft mods as well as shifter mods. The 203 is quite a beast and its large and heavy (all iron + chain). Easiest route is to pull the 203 and put a part time...

rebuild 700r4 or 4180e for my carb-350 sbc

700r4 - No damn computer, no damn sensor, no damn programming crap till your blue in the face. Cheaper to set up, and gearing is excellent for those of us running older rigs and want better gas mileage for a daily driver. Lastly, NO COMPUTERS....did I say that already?

    Fool me once…..

Ya, that weld looks like its just surface, no penetration. I would question its strength, grind that crap off then do it correctly as seen MtBrauns photo.

    Need help deciding

Since you are in Florida, and you aren't looking for a 4x4 I feel comfort should be considered. The 87 has better air and better more comfy interior. The 454 will have an easier time running that AC, which in the middle of summer is a must. Best of luck!!

    4L60e vs 700r4

Now that is truly appreciated MB. I am leaning toward the 700r4 because I have a computer controlled car. All I need is a fussy hard to drive Squarebody that constantly needs work.

    4L60e vs 700r4

I will be running a rebuilt Rochester 4bl on a Edelbrock RPM Airgap. So its close as factory as it can be I think.

    4L60e vs 700r4

Not in Tucson, AZ. There is a light ever 1/2 mile. You can shift your brains out running around this place. Auto is all I can do.

    4L60e vs 700r4

That darn TV cable and its finicky adjustments has me worried. I live in Tucson, and I don't know a single reputable tranny shop here. 4L60e can be adjusted with a laptop and a few minutes of time....But, saving cash and keeping it computer free was my goal. Still thinking.......

    4L60e vs 700r4

I recently found an NP241 transfer case and tranny off an 89 suburban. I bought both for a good price but now I have a dilemma. I already own a 4L60e from a 97 van. With some minor mods after a rebuild it would be a great tranny...but it requires a controller and other parts to run it which is a...

    K10 newbe

Welcome from AZ! Here is a good place to start. I too am using a 4L60e to NP205 in a 78 Scottsdale 4x4. I researched the hell out of this. here is where I started: https://www.advanceadapters.com/adapter-4l80-to-np205 in doing this you have to figure out the spline type on the bolt pattern of...
