Looking at 92 Yukon for my son

Wiring still simple, front end usually needs to be rebuilt if was not maintained. Door hinges are welded and could be a pain to fix if was left broken for too long. Especially pre 95 interior plastic suffers from sun damage(but later years will have dash cracking problem as well). Will still...

    are we there yet project

There are two braces missing on both sides of the quarter panel as well. Test fitted the parcel shelf thing and still trying to decide if I need it in place before cutting the tubs out. Much easier access to the inner tubs with the parcel shelf not installed.

I really need to redo a lot of the work the body shop did. I coated it for now, but their welding is worse than my harbor freight welder.

    Seat Belt Question

I tried lmc belts first, and I think the issue was that they were same for both sides and not flipped for better mounting on opposite side of the vehicle. Or maybe by second time I had the mounting figured out better.

    Seat Belt Question

Rear seats need 8"-9" long buckles. Standard aftermarket at the time were 12" and were too long

    Seat Belt Question

I need to dig through my build thread. Seat belts come with universal brackets and it took a bit of time to set them up to where it was working like I thought it should. (I remember at some point of time flipping the webbing through some pieces) have essentially same belts on my elco, except...

Was rushed, but mostly covered with primer. And more cutting.

GMT800 diff swap in a square

I would guess a shorter driveshaft might be needed if the mounting point for it moves. Brake lines kind of worked. Had to use old lines. The ones on the axle were cut. Edit: truck was previously swapped from 10 bolt to sf 14 bolt and looked like original driveshaft was still in with conversion...

GMT800 diff swap in a square

My axle came with 1410 ujoint as it was a ff. Sf likely will have 1350. In my case everything else for brakes was left alone for now. I had to mix brake lines between old and new axle. Has a SF 14 bolt with drum brakes prior. Will likely be changing to hydroboost setup eventually.

GMT800 diff swap in a square

I put a 14 bolt ff from 02 2500hd in to 85 gmc. Moved the spring perches and mixed brake lines. Shock mounts actually worked with some tweaks as is.

    Replica OEM wheels

Another vote on using 90's wheels. Even with 5 lug wheels, I ended up using 90's 5 lug steel wheels on 85 gmc.

    Burb Needs a New Transmission

4.10 with 33" tire is equivalent to 3.73 with stock tire. If doing more towing, 4.56 would probably be the choice with 33"tire. I don't tow too much, and above 70mph big block does fine in od towing reasonable size trailer(6kish) with 3.73 gears

    Burb Needs a New Transmission

I seem to like 3.73 with 33" tire for higher hwy speeds. If doing more towing 4.10 would be preferred. But that is with a big block and 4l80e

Yes. It was a slightly different due to the way they mount behind the seat on 2nd row

Seatbelt planet will send custom length if requested. I did special order to get suburban 2nd row correct

    another elco

Overall is 18 5/8 x 33 and I believe it also cross references to trucks as well. And supposedly fit until 77 on chevelle(last year of the model)

    another elco

Core is 17 x 28 1/4 on replacement, and 17x28 3/4 on original. Rad in the car was 3 rows, replacement is a 4 row. Shroud needs to be trimmed as it does not fit between the tanks any more

    another elco

Thought the motor was cooked. Ran completely out of coolant for a few miles. Seem to have recovered. Bought a new rad. Old one was leaking too much. Transmission cooler lines were really stuck, but after some heat was able to spin the nut without twisting the line.
