High Oil Pressure and Leaking After Oil Change

Thinner will leak easier, for sure. His leak could be valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets, distributor gasket, , oil pan gasket(s), maybe even oil pressure sender not being tight, or rear main(possible, but not worth changing until everything else is known to be non-leaking). Lots of places to...

Who is or has run a 307?

1 here. Our taxpayer funded Karen-force has nearly doubled in the last couple of years. And the Karens that have nothing better to do than stick their noses into everything are the ones informing them.

High Oil Pressure and Leaking After Oil Change

OR, the oil in it was thinner, now it's correct viscosity and running normal oil pressure? Fix the leak(s), and stop worrying about normal oil pressure readings.

Daughters ‘87 needs to ride smooth.

Old trucks are meant to be rough riders, not smooth sailers. I would suggest better shocks than Monroe. KYB Monomax are good for a decently priced shock. Bilstein if you want to spend more. And good highway rated tires like General Grabber HTS60.

    Random wire

We need a pic of the wire, some info on the vehicle you're working on. I don't think any of us are capable of seeing what you see through your eyes. Take a pic, post it up, and provide info on what you're working on, then you'll get meaningful replies.

What have you done to your square lately??

I might be wrong, but I think it goes in the other slot on that pull-off above the custom vacuum plug. The slot with the spring around it.

    74 Adjusting tailgate latches

I just spray my moving parts with lube and then the tailgate can be shut easier than closing the door on the cab. I know when it's time to reapply the lube, I'll have to shut the tailgate by pulling the handle.

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

I did this back 2013 or 2014 on my 81, removed the radiator after running a system flush through it for about a week. With a CLR solution and sloshing the radiator back and forth every hour or so for the day, was able to get a lot of scale out of the radiator and other crud out of the rest of...

By clean the radiator, I also meant cleaning the fins, and also checking the fins of the condenser. On my Jeep I had cooling issues for a long time, and part of it was buds lodged in the fins. Used a pick and carefully got them out, and also used water from the backside to hep dislodged them...

First qjet carb swap- sanity check

Be aware that the "new" carb's throttle shaft may be worn as well. My original carb for my 81 is like that and needs to be bushed. It'll stick open if the throttle is just right. Scary. Hopefully yours isn't sloppy, and it's just the fast idle cam as @Ricko1966 mentioned.

Not as thick, but definitely thicker than some cars out there. I have been pleased with the stoutness of the sheet metal on my 81 c20

    Very fast idle on start

I'm guessing it's a vari-jet. Probably has provisions for fast idle when cold started. The literature about the carb adjustments may be here in the library. If not, a simple search on the webs can yield sources for it, either for free or for purchase.
