    George's 2003 Sub "lucky7"

I understand but how much will it change if I use the same shims? I hear of guys using a setup bearing which has the inner race diameter opened up so it slips on and off the pinion and then using a different new bearing for final assembly. Seems there could be a risk of a difference in pinion...

    George's 2003 Sub "lucky7"

Hey Guys it’s been a while. I have been a busy boy lately so not on here much. I am in need of some guidance. I noticed a couple drops of gear oil on the floor of the shop so I investigated and found it coming from the rear pinion. I picked up a seal and dove under it today. It turns out it is...

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

Probably true in some cases and when connected to ported vacuum it doesn't do what it should but on manifold vacuum it can prove to be beneficial.

What have you done to your square lately??

Some of the washers thread off. I have also heated the center of the washer up to almost orange and then threaded the stud through it. I chase the washer with a tap, paint it and reinstall it on the stud.

Fuel Gauge Pegged Past Full - HELP!

If you have taken the connection for the pink wire off the sending unit on top of the tank and grounded it successfully forcing the gauge to empty then yes, it is either the sender or the ground lead. Have you checked the connections on top of the tank?

1999 Suburban 10 bolt pinion bearings replace.

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately the reason i am pushing him to replace the diff is because he decided to ignore the noise and tow his 24' camper 300+ miles round trip. The noise is in sync with the drive shaft spinning ans sounds like something grinding against the driveshaft. I ran it in...

Fuel Gauge Pegged Past Full - HELP!

How this works in a nutshell..... The gauge looks for a signal from the sender. The sender completes the circuit to ground a varying resistance depending on how full the tank is. By grounding the wire completely you completed the circuit with no resistance pulling the gauge to empty. for some...

Fuel Gauge Pegged Past Full - HELP!

You need to double check your ground and signal connections at the tank. If that all checks out it is the sender in the tank.
