    84 pickup floor options

Nah, it's not that bad. Now if there's standing water on an EPDM roof with some moss and dirt buildup, then you better watch your arse! :jester:

    Transfer case noise

Def check u-joints and check t-case oil level. If it's a NP208/241, NEVER run it low on oil.

    84 pickup floor options

I might throw down some EPDM in my rig, but it'd be easier for myself than most, since i'm a roofer...

    Non-Stock Rear Bumpers

I don't know about using a GMT 900 bumper, but I think GMT 800 bumpers look good on just about anything. I've seen them swapped on 94-01 Dodges and Squarebodys. Looked good on both of them.

    4L65 problems new reman.

1600 miles away! damn thats a good distance. You care to mention the name of the company. I have a Finishline trans in my truck(they're in Illinois), and next time it needs repaired, i'm going with a reputable local shop. Good luck man. With 60E's you're going to need it.

    Shackle Flip Lift ???

Shackle flips are an ingenious idea. All lifted trucks should have them, imo. I have a shackle flip on my '99, my brother's '87, and my '81 will also get a set. Diy4x has a cool shackle flip that also gets rid of the weak stock shackle. Good price too...

I have a few Gearwrenchs I bought from Lowe's and I keep buying more. I should have just bought the whole sets to begin with. Love them!

    wheel hop

Don't use those little aluminum shims from Summit Racing. Use steel shims from DIY4X or WFO Concepts. IMO, the best thing you can do is get a shackle flip. Gets rid of the axle-wrap inducing blocks and retains the original leafs for best ride quality and performance.

HELP with spindle on 85 high sierra 4wd

Okay, so you mean "knuckle" when you say spindle, right? Have you tried installing the knuckle without the axle installed. Install the knuckle, then remove the spindle from the knuckle, install the axle, then reinstall the spindle.

Need advice on steering components 86 K20

Yep, crossover steering is mandatory for the setup you have. If you spend some time reading/searching on pirate4x4.com, you'll find that there are budget-oriented ways to get crossover steering done. You'll also need to get the ORD steering box brace or fab up your own, because crossover will...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

Great to hear that it's shifting. Someday i'd like to try rebuilding an auto trans. Their a lot of money to be saved by doing it yourself..........well, as long as you do it right the first time, lol.

Shim for rear axle has bigger center hole than pin size??

Yep, bolt-on STEEL shims are the way to go. DIY4X has nice shims, as well as WFO Concepts.

    Light Metal Welding Discussion

I have a Lincoln 175 HD. It's a 220V welder and it works great as long as the polarity is set right. When I first got it I didn't know much and wound up using solid wire w/shielding gas with the wrong polarity. It did work, but after watching some youtube vids and reading various websites, I...

4L80-E Saved from the Scrap Yard !!!

Nice save hotrod! The earlier 4L80E's actually have a better lube design and don't eat up bushings like the later "central lube" units. Of course they don't have the updates the later ones have, so that is something to be taken care of when you rebuild them.

    4" lift no vibration

First, I hope you mean 5/16" thick. 3/16 is a bit thin for shackles especially when they're longer than stock. Do they have a cross-brace welded on? Second, the stock shackles are around 4" long, so to gain 1.5" of lift you would need the shackles to be 3" longer. Reason being, you're only...
