Running temps...
I'd find a way to double check the temp before jumping to any conclusions. But, let's say it's definitely running at 210*. Do you have the stock thermostat in it? Stock fan and fan clutch? Stock fan shroud? Original water pump?- Beatdown Z

Just got back from harbor freight. Picked up the composite racthets and also found these little gems that are almost identical to the Snap-On ratchets i was talking about. My buddy's ratchet was actually a 3/8" flexhead/swivel ratchet. As weird as it sounds, everytime i grab my craftsman i think about it, haha. Good point IMan, I need to slap on a yamaka and start searching ebay for some good deals!- Beatdown Z

Definitely going to try out these ratchets. I hate just about all of my current ratchets(mostly craftsman) so i'm game for these cheapies. I recently used a friend's Snap-on ratchet and boy that thing was nice! I would not want to see the price tag on it though, haha.- Beatdown Z

Yeaaa, about that... The truck overheated, hydrolcked, and bent two rods last summer. So, he bought two used pistons and rods and slapped them in. It does smoke on start up sometimes so it could use a valve job/guides. Didn't degree the cam, so it's wherever it landed, lol. Maybe I should...- Beatdown Z

My buddy needs help deciding what to do with his 89 GMC Jimmy. The truck has a pretty crappy drivetrain setup. It has a swirl port headed 350, 750 Holley with mechanical secondaries, 214/224 cam(think it's an Elgin grind), Edelbrock Performer intake, stock manifolds, stock converter, TH400, 2.73...- Beatdown Z

Rear shock extenders
Just make sure when you lower them, you keep them higher than the edge of the wheels. This is to prevent the rear of the truck from pulling hard to one side if you have a blowout. Since you have a welder and fab tools, I suggest you just mount both shocks behind the axle at a <10 degree angle...- Beatdown Z

And I agree with the other guys. Gaining a few extra horsepower from a high flow filter isn't worth the life it will take off your engine due to the amount of extra dirt/dust it lets pass through.- Beatdown Z

The early 80E's with the stacked cooler fittings have a better lube design than the later "central" lube units. BUT, the later units do have some updates.
