    I am near San Antonio, about a 4hr drive xD. Well honestly, I am wanting to just put my intake, and heads from my 305 on over to the 350. But this could all change once I get the engine and really see what I am getting into.

    I just found out a little more on the engine I am looking to get. The heads will have to be replaced. They are warped, well just one side but I will swap both. He said the engine ran fine before didn't smoke or anything. So hopefully everything works out with it.

    Yeah that is what I mainly use my truck for, so I will be looking into getting that cam. I am surprised how much power this little 305 had. Also helps with the 800cfm quadrajet. And it had decent MPG, even with my heavy foot lol.

    Still running and drivable'ish now. I notice that the harmonic balancer wobbles like crazy lol But the engine I am getting is low miles. And he owes me money for work I done for him in the past, so I most likely will get it "free". So If the engine isn't to bad I will just fix it.

    It is a steel gear. So yeah I am just gonna do what I can, get it going again and keep a look out for another engine. I bought a new fuel pump already will it work with a 350? Also will the water pump swap out too?

    Check the 4th post I have a link to a video showing how much play is in the chain. Also on the back side of the cam gear has cracks all in it.

    I don't honestly know. The thing runs great at idle lol. But I bet if I get the rockers back on it will still be running. I am pretty sure that didn't just happen either.

    Well I finally go around to taking the timing gears off. And found the bearing on the crank all messed up. both halfs on top of each other on the same side and rubbing against the timing chain. Would it be safe to just replace that one only? I am going to pull the pan now, and see what I can...

    Thanks for that chart, that will help alot. And I am guessing it is still the stock cam. So basically when #1 is TDC, adjust all the ones in yellow? Then blue for #6 is TDC?

    I pulled the passenger side valve cover off. And found the back 4 valves loose, some enough to pick up and turn around. So I am going to snug up that whole side and hope for the best. Also since I have it torn all the way down to the timing chain I am just going to replace the timing chain and...

    Just running the filter that is in the carb where the fuel line screws in. Replaced it the sametime I rebuilt the carb

    I did pull the pump and it looked fine to me. The old one that I pulled off because it was leaking a little from the weep hole. The arm barely moved at all not even 1/4 inch movement. But it worked fine never did this. So hopefully something is just got junk in it and clogged.

    Well I rebuilt the carb several months back. And it was running great before so I didn't change anything. It only started this AFTER I installed the new pump. So either the pump or junk in the fuel line. If its that I hope its just something simple like that. Could the pump be some how making...

    Alright, I will try returning and getting another. And change the fuel filter out. Haven't got the valve covers off yet had other stuff to do. Will in the morning.     Oil pressure has always been perfect too. never dropped low once. It just puzzles me out of the blue that this happens lol.
