    Battery Conversion/Wiring

Could you take the old one off and measure it? Or maybe use one of those measuring tapes to follow along the wire while it's installed to see which is closest to your measurement?

    New Girl from WIsconsin

Really nice rig! What's the story behind it? Did you buy it like that? Inherit it? Do the work yourself or spend big $$?

    ETR clock is always on

I've heard talk of weird things happening when using the wrong type of bulb, but never heard it mess with a radio before. Interesting......

That sucks! Anything to get out of doing warranty work.

    Lmc discounts?

I always price them on both sites at the same time all the way until it's time to pay. Sometimes, the one with the cheaper part prices charges more in shipping and the other ends up actually being a bit cheaper.

What is this and should it have water???

Hmm...with it being covered up, I wouldn't think rain water would be an issue. However, I'm still going to try to find that drain hole tonight. I'm trying to flip your pic over in my head to pin point where I need to look. I'm guessing it'll be pointing down, and about centered with the glove...

What is this and should it have water???

It did rain a lot on Sat, but my truck is under the cover so condensation is about all that gets through. For the same reason, I wouldn't think there would be any build up of leaves. So you don't think it's the hot air blowing into the cold ductwork and causing a puddle at the low point in the...

What is this and should it have water???

When I drove my truck right before Thanksgiving, my son point out some liquid that dripped on the floor below the glove compartment. Of course, first thing I thought was heater core. I was planning to drive it to work today and I had a little time to kill last night, so I started her up...

    need engine help

Could be a short to ground instead of a connection issue, like a wire that got pinched when you were pushing stuff back in the dash. Look for that too. Also double check your constand 12v source if there wasn't one there from the factory.

    More Speaker Questions

I think the technical answer is yet, but I've heard some really good sounding 6x9s in my day. Unless you're some serious audiophile or planning on competing, 6x9s will do just fine. Just my 2 cents....

    Single-Din Head Unit Installation

I like how your dash panel goes all the way to the column as one piece. Where did you get yours? Or am I looking at it wrong?

Help me Pick out a New Alternator

Somebody else chime in if I'm wrong, but you only have about 25A of amplifier load. Even with the head unit, stock accessories, and headlights, I'd think a stock replacement would suffice unless you're planning something more radical. The little Mazda 626 I had in college only had a 65A stock...

    Bright headlights?

Food for thought........ I upgraded the factory HIDs on my DD from 4300K bulbs to 6000K. In doing my research, several sources said not to exceed 6000k because, although the 8000K light is brighter, it has a shorter effective distance. Basically, other people will see you better, but you...

    LMC Truck 87 Chevy Dashpad

Anyone on here tried the one from Classic Parts? It's about the same price, but for some reason I can't explain, I think it's a nicer piece and the colors look very accurate.

Zinc/Phosphorus (ZDDP) for flat tappet engines

Not sure yet, but my last thought was go with some 20" black Boss 338's. The car originally had a black top on it, but it was never reinstalled after a repaint (I use that term loosely) in the 80's. Haven't decided it if I'll have it reinstalled this time or just have everything smoothed and...

Zinc/Phosphorus (ZDDP) for flat tappet engines

I haven't started on her appearance yet. Just been tightening up a few mechanical things as I have time & when I'm at my mom's where it's stored until I build a new home for it. It runs pretty good now. This is the only decent pic I have right now.

    silverado fender emblems

I wish someone would make a repro one that has the little spring loaded clips that would pop out inside the fender to hold it like they do for the trim at the bed corners on the later models.

Zinc/Phosphorus (ZDDP) for flat tappet engines

I use the conventional VR-1 in my Chevelle 396. It always comes out clean, but I put hardly any miles on it between changes so that could be it. Before '09 it's always had standard conventional oils and no zinc additives. There hasn't been a cam failure, BUT that car hasn't seen more than a...

Yeah, that was moreso for Cody. Sorry about that. Trying to decipher if it's doing like it's supposed to and he just doesn't like it, or if it's actually not setup right.
